Do the participants need any previous art experience?

Absolutely! Our youth projects in Karlovac are designed for beginners. Our professional artists start with the basics of safety and can control before moving on to sketching and filling. By the end of the session, even those who have never held a spray can will have created something they are proud of. We focus on technique and confidence-building in a supportive environment.

Is the paint safe for young people to use?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep everyone safe and clean. Our instructors are experienced professionals who provide a comprehensive safety briefing before any paint is sprayed. We also ensure the workshop takes place in a well-ventilated outdoor or semi-outdoor area to minimise any fume exposure.

What should the participants wear to the workshop?

While we provide protective overalls, we always recommend that participants wear 'work clothes' or old trainers that they don't mind getting a bit of paint on. Graffiti can be messy, and while the suits cover most areas, a stray drip or splash of paint can sometimes find its way onto shoes or sleeves. Better safe than sorry!

How long does a typical youth graffiti session last?

Most of our youth project workshops in Karlovac last between 2 and 3 hours. This allows enough time for the introductory talk, practicing basic strokes, planning the mural, and the final painting phase. We can adjust the duration to fit into your specific youth group schedule or school day if needed—just let us know your requirements!

What is the maximum group size for a project?

We are very flexible! We can host workshops for small youth groups of 10 or large scale projects for up to 100+ participants. For larger groups, we bring in extra professional artists to ensure every young person gets the individual attention and guidance they need to succeed. Our backup artist system ensures the event always goes ahead as planned.

Is there an age limit for the youth projects?

We usually suggest a minimum age of 8 to 10 years old. This is mainly because the spray cans require a certain amount of finger strength and coordination to operate effectively and safely. For teenagers and older youth groups, we ramp up the complexity of the designs to keep them engaged and challenged throughout the session.

How and when do we need to pay for the workshop?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our 'pay after the workshop' policy. We don't require any upfront payment or deposits. We believe in the quality of our service and want you to be 100% satisfied with the experience before any money changes hands. It makes the booking process stress-free for youth leaders and organisers.

Step by step

The meetup: We gather the group at the designated Karlovac street art spot and hand out the protective gear.
Safety first: Our pros give a quick rundown on how to use the spray cans safely and respect the environment.
The tag creator: We start with the basics—learning how to create a personal tag and understanding letter structures.
Concept sketching: The group works together to sketch out a theme or a large mural design on paper or directly on the wall.
Can control: Participants practice 'filling', 'fading', and 'outlining' techniques under expert guidance.
The masterpiece: Everyone grabs their cans and starts bringing the collective vision to life on the designated surface.
Final touches: Our artists help the youth add highlights, shadows, and sharp outlines to make the artwork pop.
Group photo: We celebrate the hard work with a photoshoot in front of the finished graffiti mural.

Local culture

Karlovac, famous for its unique six-pointed star layout and its stunning river landscapes, provides a fantastic backdrop for urban creativity. While the city is steeped in history, there is a growing appetite for modern expression. We love bringing our workshops to Karlovac because the local youth have a unique perspective shaped by the city's blend of parklands and industrial heritage. Whether we're setting up near the Korana river or in a local community centre, the vibe is always electric. 🌳

Fun Fact: Did you know Karlovac is known as the "city of parks"? It has more green space per inhabitant than almost any other city in Croatia, making it a dream location for outdoor graffiti sessions under the shade of ancient trees! 🌲✨
