Do the participants need any previous art experience?

Absolutely! Our Oulu youth projects are designed specifically for beginners. Our professional tutors guide the group through every step, from basic spray can control to complex layering. No prior artistic skill is needed to create something truly impressive. We focus on the process and the fun, ensuring every participant leaves feeling like a confident artist. We provide all the guidance and encouragement required to make the experience a success.

Is the graffiti workshop safe for teenagers?

Safety is our number one priority in Oulu. We provide high-quality protective gear, including gloves and professional-grade masks to ensure everyone breathes easy. Our spray paints are selected for low toxicity, and we always work in well-ventilated areas or outdoors. Our instructors are trained to manage groups safely and provide constant supervision throughout the workshop. We make sure the environment is secure so everyone can focus on being creative and having fun.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

The workshop duration is flexible to suit your project's needs. Typically, our youth sessions in Oulu last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This allows enough time for a solid introduction, sketching, practice, and the final creation of a large-scale piece. If you have a specific schedule or a larger community project in mind, we can extend the session or split it over multiple days to achieve a more detailed result.

Where in Oulu do the workshops take place?

We bring the street art experience to you! We can host workshops at youth centres, school playgrounds, or community hubs across Oulu. If you don't have a specific location, we can help find a suitable legal wall or public space. We are fully mobile and arrive with all the boards, plastics, and protective materials needed to keep the surrounding area clean while the youth get creative on their specific canvas.

What materials are included in the youth project?

We provide everything! Your booking includes premium spray paint in a vibrant rainbow of colours, protective masks, gloves, and overalls. We also provide the canvas—whether that's professional-grade large boards, a designated legal wall, or individual canvases. We even bring the sketching materials and caps. You just need to show up in clothes you don't mind getting a little paint on, and we handle the rest.

Can we choose a specific theme for our mural or workshop?

Yes, we can! We love working on themed projects that tackle local Oulu issues, celebrate community history, or promote positive messages like mental health awareness or environmental sustainability. If your youth group has a specific message they want to convey, let us know. Our artists will help translate those ideas into a visual masterpiece that the team can be proud of, fostering a sense of ownership and pride.

How much does a graffiti youth project cost in Oulu?

Pricing for our Oulu youth projects is based on the number of participants and the specific setup required. Generally, prices range from €30 to €65 per person. For larger community projects or multi-day workshops, we offer tailored packages to ensure the best value. We don't require upfront payments, and we are happy to provide a transparent, obligation-free quote based on your group's specific needs and budget.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti project for your youth group in Oulu? It’s more than just painting walls—it’s about building a sense of belonging and discovering hidden talents in an environment that feels authentic and exciting. 🎨

Empowerment through art: Young people see their ideas go from a small sketch to a massive, vibrant mural. It’s a huge confidence booster! 💪
Team building: Working on a collaborative piece requires communication, planning, and mutual respect—essential skills for any Oulu teen.
Legal and safe: we provide a structured, legal way to enjoy street art, steering energy into positive community contributions.
Stress relief: There’s something incredibly therapeutic about the rhythmic "hiss" of a spray can and the focus required to paint. 🎤
Professional guidance: Our Oulu-based experts don't just paint; they mentor, share stories, and inspire the next generation of creators.
No barriers: You don't need to be "good at drawing." Graffiti is for everyone, regardless of their background or previous art grades.

Step by step

Initial creative huddle: We start with a high-energy intro about street art culture and brainstorm the project's core message or theme.
Safety and gear up: Everyone gets fitted with professional masks, gloves, and protective suits to stay clean and safe throughout the session.
The tag creator session: Participants learn the basics of lettering and develop their own unique "tag" or signature style on paper.
Nozzle and spray technique: Our pros demonstrate "can control"—showing how to make thin lines, thick fills, and smooth gradients.
First strokes on the wall: After a quick practice on test boards, the group begins outlining the main project design in Oulu.
The filling phase: This is where the colour comes in! Everyone works together to fill the mural with vibrant shades and patterns.
Detailing and 3D effects: We teach techniques for adding highlights, shadows, and sharp outlines to make the artwork "pop."
Professional finishing: Our artists help add those final expert touches to ensure the community mural looks incredible.
Success celebration: We wrap up with a group photo and a debrief on the skills learned and the impact of the collaborative art piece.

Local culture

Oulu is a city that prides itself on being the "capital of Northern Scandinavia," and its street art scene is as cool as its winter air. With local gems like the murals in the Toppila area and the creative pulse of the Pikisaari artist community, Oulu is the perfect backdrop for a graffiti revolution. We love the contrast between the city's high-tech reputation and the raw, expressive power of spray can art. Did you know that Oulu is home to the Air Guitar World Championships? That same spirit of wild, uninhibited creativity is exactly what we bring to every workshop. We embrace the "Oulu spirit"—bold, unconventional, and always communal. ✨

Fun Fact: Oulu has a thriving underground art scene influenced by its long winters—when the sun goes down, the vibrant colours of graffiti keep the city's energy alive!
