Do I need any prior art experience to participate?

Absolutely not! Our workshop is designed for complete beginners. Our professional street artists will guide you through every step, from holding the spray can correctly to mastering complex shading techniques. Most of our participants have never touched a spray can before, but by the end of the session in Kolding, they are always amazed by the vibrant, high-quality artwork they've managed to create together.

Is the workshop safe and legal?

Safety and legality are our top priorities. We only paint on designated legal walls or mobile canvases provided by Graffitifun. Part of our 'Anti-Vandalism' curriculum in Kolding is teaching the vital difference between illegal graffiti and professional street art. We provide all necessary protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls, to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment for all participants.

What should I wear to the graffiti workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on. While we provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and masks, spray paint can sometimes find its way onto shoes or sleeves. It’s best to dress for a creative outdoor session so you can focus entirely on your masterpiece without worrying about your wardrobe!

How long does a typical session last?

Our workshops typically last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us plenty of time to cover the history of urban art, practice basic techniques, and complete a large-scale project. We can adjust the duration to fit your specific schedule in Kolding, ensuring the pace is perfect for your group's energy levels and creative goals.

How does this program actually help prevent vandalism?

The primary goal is to redirect creative energy into positive, legal outlets. By teaching the skills and effort required to create real art, participants gain a new respect for public spaces and the work of others. We’ve seen time and again that when people are given a platform to express themselves legally, the urge to engage in destructive vandalism significantly decreases.

What is the maximum group size you can host?

We can accommodate almost any group size! Whether you are a small group of 10 or a large school assembly of 100+, we have the staff and materials to handle it. We bring along extra professional artists for larger groups to ensure everyone gets personal attention and guidance. In Kolding, we pride ourselves on being flexible enough to scale our events up or down.

The experience

Our program is about more than just painting walls; it's about changing perspectives. Here’s why our anti-vandalism workshops are the top choice for Kolding's local groups:

Professional Guidance: Learn from real artists who have turned their passion into a career. 🎤
Pride of Ownership: Creating a massive legal mural builds a sense of pride that discourages illegal tagging.
No Stress Booking: With our "no upfront payment" policy, you can plan your event with total peace of mind.
All-Inclusive Kit: We bring everything—from the finest spray cans to the latest safety gear. 🎒
Scalable Fun: Whether it's a small workshop or a city-wide initiative, we’ve got the artists to cover it.
Proven Impact: Education is the best prevention; we teach the "why" as much as the "how."

Step by step

Introduction & Ethics: We start with a brief talk about the history of street art and the importance of respecting public property.
Safety First: Everyone gets geared up with professional masks, gloves, and protective suits to stay clean and safe.
Mastering the Can: Our artists show you how to control pressure, swap nozzles (caps), and create different line widths.
The Sketching Phase: We brainstorm a collective theme and sketch out the design on the wall or canvas.
Filling & Fading: Learn the 'fill-in' technique and how to create smooth colour gradients and fades.
Outlining: This is where the magic happens! We add sharp outlines to make the piece 'pop'.
Adding Highlights: Use white and light colours to add shine and 3D effects to your work.
The Grand Reveal: Step back and admire the massive, legal masterpiece the group created together.
Cleanup & Reflection: We pack up the gear and discuss how we can continue using art positively in Kolding.

Local culture

Kolding is a city where history meets modern design, home to the stunning Koldinghus and the creative minds at the Design School Kolding. This mix makes it the perfect backdrop for our urban art programmes. While Kolding values its clean streets and architectural heritage, there’s a growing appetite for modern street art styles. Our workshops align perfectly with the city’s creative spirit, offering a constructive way for young people to contribute to the local culture without devaluing the historic surroundings.

Fun Fact: Did you know that the nearby 'Trapholt' museum is world-renowned for contemporary art and design? We aim to inspire the next generation of Kolding artists to see themselves as the future of Danish design! ✨
