The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your students? It’s more than just painting; it’s about building confidence and teamwork! 🚀

  • Boosts confidence: Watch the "I can't draw" kids turn into "Look what I made!" superstars.
  • Encourages teamwork: Our collaborative murals require students to communicate and work together towards a single goal. ✨
  • Perfectly safe: We use high-quality, educator-approved gear and provide full protective clothing for every child.
  • Zero stress for teachers: We handle the setup, the instruction, and—most importantly—the cleanup! 🧹
  • No risk booking: With our "pay later" policy and artist backup system, your school event is in safe hands.
  • Memorable results: Students get a tangible piece of art to take home or a beautiful mural to leave as a legacy for the school. 🏆

Step by step

  1. Intro and safety briefing: We kick things off with a high-energy intro about street art culture and a quick safety demo on how to use the gear properly.
  2. Design brainstorming: Students work together or individually to sketch out their ideas, focusing on letters, characters, and vibrant colour combinations.
  3. The first spray: Kids learn 'can control' by practicing basic lines and dots on practice surfaces to get a feel for the pressure and distance.
  4. Filling in the blanks: Once they are comfortable, the students start filling in their designs with bold, bright colours, learning how to blend shades.
  5. Outlining and highlights: Our artists show the kids how to add the 'final touches'—sharpening edges with black outlines and adding white highlights to make the art pop.
  6. Group mural assembly: If the class is working on a collective project, we bring all the individual pieces together to reveal one massive, collaborative masterpiece.
  7. The grand reveal: We take a moment to admire the hard work, snap some group photos with the art, and celebrate the incredible creativity of the Kisumu students!

Local culture

Street art in Kisumu

Kisumu, the vibrant heartbeat of Lake Victoria, is a city full of colour and rhythm. From the bustling energy of Kibuye Market to the serene views of Dunga Hill Camp, the local culture is a rich tapestry of Luopean heritage and modern Kenyan flair. While street art is still a growing scene in the "City of Lake," the youth here have an incredible eye for pattern and storytelling that translates perfectly into graffiti art.

Fun fact: Did you know that Kisumu was originally named 'Port Florence'? Today, it's a hub of innovation, and we love bringing contemporary urban art to the schools here to inspire the next generation of Kenyan creatives! 🎨
