Is the graffiti workshop safe for individuals with physical disabilities?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We use low-pressure spray cans that are easier to handle and provide high-quality protective gear, including masks and gloves. Our instructors in Kisumu are specially trained to supervise different ability levels, ensuring a controlled environment where everyone can express themselves without risk. We also select locations that are accessible and comfortable for all participants.

Do participants need to have previous art skills?

No prior artistic experience is needed at all! Our workshops are designed to be inclusive and beginner-friendly. We focus on the joy of creation rather than technical perfection. Our artists guide guests through simple techniques, like making basic shapes or 'filling' in areas, allowing everyone to contribute to a beautiful piece of art regardless of their starting skill level.

Can the workshop be held at our own location in Kisumu?

We are very flexible! While we have a great outdoor space in Kisumu, we can also come to your facility, school, or community centre. If we work indoors, we use specialised water-based spray paints that are low-odour and safe for indoor use. We just need a well-ventilated area and some space to lay down protective sheets to keep the floor clean.

How long does a typical session last?

Our standard workshops for special needs groups typically last between 1.5 and 2 hours. This timeframe is ideal as it allows enough time for everyone to get comfortable with the tools and complete their artwork without becoming overly tired. However, we can easily shorten or extend the session based on the specific concentration levels and needs of your group.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything! This includes all spray paint, caps, protective overalls, gloves, and high-grade respiratory masks. We also provide the 'canvas'—whether that’s a professional mobile wall or individual wooden boards that participants can take home. You just need to show up in comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little dusty!

How does the 'pay after' policy work?

We believe in a stress-free experience, which is why we don't require any payment before the workshop takes place. You can book your date and confirm the details with us, and the payment is only processed after the workshop is completed. This ensures you are 100% satisfied with the creative fun we’ve provided to your group.

What is the ideal group size for a special needs workshop?

We usually recommend a maximum of 15 to 20 participants per instructor to ensure everyone gets personal attention and support. For groups with higher support needs, we can bring along extra backup artists or work in smaller rotations. This ensures that every individual gets the help they need to feel successful and proud of their creative contribution.

Local culture

Kisumu, known for its stunning lakeside views and the warm spirit of its people, is the perfect backdrop for a creative explosion. The city’s art scene is growing, and we are proud to contribute by making street art accessible to everyone in the "City of Champions." Our workshops embrace the local energy, often drawing inspiration from the vibrant colours of the sunset over Lake Victoria or the bustling life of the local markets.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Kisumu was originally named "Sumo," which means a place of barter? Just like the legendary trade history of the city, our workshops are all about the exchange of ideas and positive energy through art! 🐟🌍

We work closely with local community centres and schools across Kisumu to bring these sensory-friendly experiences to those who benefit most. From the quiet suburbs of Milimani to the energetic streets near the city centre, we bring the artistic flair of the graffiti world directly to you.
