Is the spray paint safe for primary school children?

Safety is our number one priority! We provide high-quality protective gear, including overalls, gloves, and specialised masks. We use low-odour professional spray paint, and our instructors are experts at managing groups of primary school children. We always recommend holding the workshop outdoors or in a very well-ventilated space to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for all the little artists involved.

What do the children actually paint during the session?

The children can paint almost anything they imagine! We usually start with a collective brainstorm to find a theme that fits the school project or a 'class identity.' Common choices include the school name, a nature theme, or positive keywords like 'friendship' and 'fun.' Our artists then help them bring these sketches to life on the large boards or canvas provided.

Where in Nijmegen does the workshop take place?

We are incredibly flexible. If your school in Nijmegen has a suitable wall or outdoor paved area, we can come to you. If not, we have access to various creative 'legal walls' and indoor spaces across the city where kids can spray freely. We bring all the necessary protective flooring and materials to ensure your school grounds stay tidy and paint-free!

How long does the graffiti workshop last?

A standard workshop for primary schools typically lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This provides enough time for the introduction, safety briefing, sketching, and the actual spray painting. We find this is the perfect 'sweet spot' for maintaining high energy and concentration levels in children aged 6 to 12 without them getting tired.

What if our school doesn't have a wall we are allowed to paint on?

Don't worry, we've got you covered! We can bring large mobile wooden panels or high-quality canvases that the children can paint on. These look fantastic when mounted in the school hallway or playground later as a permanent memory of their creative day. You don't need a 'real' wall to have a real graffiti experience.

What should the students wear on the day?

We recommend that children wear 'play clothes' that are allowed to get a little dirty, just in case. While we provide full-body protective suits and gloves, kids can be very enthusiastic, and paint has a way of finding its way onto shoes or sleeves. Comfortable trainers are a must for safety and mobility while they work on their masterpieces!

Local culture

Nijmegen is a city where history meets modern creativity. From the Roman ruins at Valkhof Park to the trendy, industrial vibes of the Honigcomplex, inspiration is everywhere! Nijmegen has a thriving urban culture, and we love bringing that 'Waalstad' spirit directly into the classroom. We often take inspiration from the local bridges or the city’s green surroundings to help the kids create something that feels uniquely 'Nijmegen.'

Fun Fact: Did you know Nijmegen is home to one of the longest legal graffiti walls in the region? The city has a long tradition of supporting street art as a form of positive expression! 🏆

Pricing

Our workshop prices typically range from €25 to €55 per student. The final investment depends on the number of pupils, the location, and whether you want a permanent mural on a school wall or individual canvases for the kids to take home. We believe in transparency and fun without the fuss!

Because every school project is unique, we’d love to hear your ideas and provide a tailormade plan that fits your budget.
