Is the graffiti workshop safe for primary school children?

Absolutely! The safety of your pupils is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including gloves and masks (if indoors or in enclosed spaces), and use low-odour, professional-grade spray paints. Our artists are experienced in managing groups of primary-aged children, ensuring that everyone follows the safety guidelines while having an absolute blast. We make sure the environment is controlled, creative, and completely secure for every child involved.

Do the students need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed to be inclusive and accessible for all skill levels. Whether a student is a budding Picasso or has never held a spray can before, our professional artists will guide them through every step. We focus on basic techniques like making 'fat' and 'thin' lines, filling in shapes, and adding highlights, so every child ends the session feeling proud of what they have created.

What should the children wear for the workshop?

We recommend that students wear 'play clothes' or old outfits that you don't mind getting a bit of paint on. While we provide protective overalls or aprons and gloves, graffiti can sometimes be a messy business! Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are also a must. We handle the rest of the supplies, so you just need to bring your enthusiasm and some clothes that are ready for a creative workout.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard primary school workshop in Viljandi typically lasts between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the final creation of a collaborative or individual piece. We can easily adjust the timing to fit into your school’s lesson blocks or afternoon activity schedules to ensure a smooth flow to the school day.

Do we need to travel, or can you come to our school?

We are very flexible! We can set up the workshop right on your school grounds if you have a suitable outdoor wall or a well-ventilated space. Alternatively, we can arrange for the session to take place at a local creative spot in Viljandi. If you prefer to keep it indoors, we use large canvases or boards to ensure your school property stays clean while the kids get to express themselves.

What is included in the price of the workshop?

The cost usually ranges between €20 and €40 per student. This price is all-inclusive, covering the artists' time, all spray paint, masks, gloves, and the surfaces we paint on. The final price depends on the total number of students and the specific setup you choose. Because every school has different needs, we recommend requesting a custom quote so we can give you the best possible rate.

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?

Rain doesn't have to stop the fun! If the weather in Viljandi takes a turn, we have several backup options. We can move the workshop under a large canopy, or we can pivot to an indoor session using specialised techniques and protective floor coverings. We track the forecast closely and will coordinate with you 24-48 hours in advance to make sure the creative energy keeps flowing regardless of the clouds.

Confidence boost: Seeing a giant, colourful design come to life gives kids an instant sense of achievement.
Teamwork in action: Our collaborative mural projects teach students how to work together toward a shared goal.
Safe & professional: We use child-friendly equipment and our experienced artists handle the "mess" so you don't have to.

Step by step

Intro and safety briefing: We kick things off with a high-energy introduction to graffiti culture and a vital safety talk to ensure everyone uses the equipment correctly.
Artist demonstration: Our pro artists show off some "wow" moves, demonstrating how to control the spray can to create different effects and textures.
Sketching the vision: Kids grab paper and pencils to plan their designs, learning how to structure letters and characters before touching the paint.
Basics of the can: Students start with 'ghost' lines, practicing the movement of their arms and fingers to get comfortable with the spray pressure.
Outline and fill: Time to get colourful! The children begin outlining their main shapes and filling them in with vibrant, bold hues.
Adding the details: We teach the kids how to add highlights, shadows, and "3D" effects to make their artwork pop off the surface.
The final masterpiece: Whether it's a individual canvas or a giant school mural, the kids put the finishing touches on their urban art.
Photo session and cleanup: We capture the proud smiles of the young artists with their work before tidying up the site perfectly.

Local culture

Viljandi is known as the "Cradle of Culture" in Estonia, famous for its folk music and ruins, but there is a growing appreciation for contemporary street art too! In a city where ancient walls meet modern creativity, our workshops fit right in. We love bringing a splash of modern "Viljandi vibes" to the classroom. Did you know? Viljandi is home to some incredible hidden murals that celebrate the town's legendary "Viljandi Boatman." We aim to inspire the next generation of Estonian artists right here in this historic town. 🏰🔥

Fun Fact: Viljandi is often called the 'Estonian forest capital' because of its lush greenery—we love using forest-inspired greens and earthy tones in our local school murals!
