Do I need any previous art experience to join the workshop?

Not at all! Our Limerick street art workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our professional artists will guide you through everything from holding the spray can correctly to layering colours and creating depth. We focus on having a laugh and being creative, so there’s zero pressure to be the next Banksy. Just bring your enthusiasm and we will handle the rest!

What should I wear and what equipment is provided?

We’ve got you covered. We provide high-quality spray paint, masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep your clothes clean. However, we always recommend wearing old clothes and comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of paint on, just in case. Street art is a hands-on craft, so it’s best to be prepared for a bit of creative mess!

What happens if it rains during the outdoor festival?

Limerick’s weather can be unpredictable, but the fun doesn't stop. If we are outdoors and it starts to drizzle, we usually have gazebos or covered areas ready. For heavier rain, we can often move the activation to a sheltered spot or an indoor venue nearby. We always have a backup plan to ensure your festival experience goes off without a hitch.

Is the graffiti workshop safe for all ages?

Safety is our top priority. We use low-odour spray paints where possible and provide all necessary safety gear, including FFP2 or FFP3 masks and nitrile gloves. Our instructors are highly experienced in managing groups in public spaces, ensuring a safe perimeter is maintained so that both participants and festival spectators can enjoy the art safely and comfortably.

How long does a typical street art session last?

Standard festival workshops usually last between 1.5 to 3 hours, but we are very flexible. For large public festivals in Limerick, we often run 'drop-in' style sessions where people can contribute to a massive mural over several hours. If you are booking a private group session within a festival framework, we can tailor the duration to fit your specific schedule.

Can we take our creations home with us?

Absolutely! While we love creating large-scale mural art, we can also set up stations where participants spray-paint their own canvases, caps, or tote bags to take home. It’s a brilliant way for festival-goers to have a physical memento of their day in Limerick. Let us know what you prefer when you book, and we’ll make it happen.

How do I book and what are the payment terms?

We make the booking process as easy as possible for festival organisers. You don't need to pay anything upfront; you can settle the payment after the workshop is completed. We also have backup artists on standby to ensure that your event never faces a cancellation. Simply request a quote, and we’ll handle the logistics of bringing the art to life!

Step by step

Grab your gear: We start by getting everyone suited up in protective gear and picking out a vibrant palette of spray cans.
Master the nozzle: Our pros teach you the 'can-control' basics—learning how pressure and distance affect your lines.
Sketch the vision: Use chalk or light spray paint to map out the 'bones' of your masterpiece on the festival wall or canvas.
Fill with colour: This is where the magic happens! We start filling in the large shapes with bold, popping colours.
Outline and pop: Learn how to use high-contrast colours to outline your work, making the design stand out from the background.
Add the details: Use specialized nozzles (fat caps and skinny caps) to add flares, drips, or sharp geometric details.
Shading and 3D: Our artists show you how to add shadows and highlights to give your graffiti a professional 3D effect.
The final tag: Every artist needs a signature. Finish your work by adding your unique 'tag' to the piece.
Group photo: We wrap up by capturing the finished mural with the whole crew—a perfect memory of the festival!

Local culture

Limerick has a gritty, soulful charm that makes it the perfect canvas for street art. From the incredible murals of the Draw Out project to the hidden gems tucked away in the city’s historic lanes, there is a deep appreciation for urban culture here. Our workshops tap into that local "Limerick Edge," celebrating the city’s resilience and artistic flair. Whether we're setting up near Arthur's Quay or in the heart of the Georgian Quarter, the atmosphere is always electric.

Fun Fact: Did you know Limerick is home to some of Ireland's largest gable-end murals? The city uses street art to tell stories of its social history and sporting legends, making it a true open-air gallery! 🏆
