Do we need to be 'artistic' or have prior drawing experience?

No artistic skills are required at all! Our professional graffiti artists are experts at guiding absolute beginners. We start with the basics of can control and simple lettering before moving on to the main event. Most people are honestly surprised by what they can achieve in just a couple of hours. It’s all about the team experience and having a laugh together while trying something completely new.

What should we wear and will we get messy?

Safety and cleanliness are our top priorities. We provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and specialized masks for every participant. While our spray paints are professional-grade, the gear we provide ensures your work clothes stay clean. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothes you don't mind getting a tiny bit of dust on, just to be safe while you're unleashing your inner Banksy!

How long does a typical team building session last?

The graffiti workshop typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This includes the initial safety briefing, technique practice, and the collaborative creation of your final masterpiece. We can easily adjust the timing to fit into your busy conference schedule or team-away day. If you have a specific time slot in Christchurch, just let us know and we’ll make it work perfectly.

Where in Christchurch do the workshops take place?

In the Garden City, we have several great outdoor and well-ventilated indoor spots available. We can also come to your office if you have a suitable outdoor area or a large, airy warehouse space. Part of the Christchurch charm is its resilience and adaptable spaces, so we are very flexible with locations to ensure your team has the best possible street art environment.

Can we keep the artwork we create during the workshop?

Absolutely! One of the most popular options for Christchurch businesses is creating a large collaborative mural on canvas or boards that you can take back to the office. It serves as a fantastic, colourful reminder of your team's unity and creativity. Every time you walk past it in the breakroom or lobby, you'll remember the day you conquered the spray can together.

What happens if we need to cancel or the artist is sick?

We are one of the few providers that offers a 'pay after the workshop' service, meaning there is no upfront financial risk for your company. We also have a dedicated pool of backup artists, so even if an emergency happens, your event will go ahead as planned. Our focus is 100% on your satisfaction and providing a stress-free, high-energy experience for your hard-working Christchurch team.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your Christchurch business? Because it works! Street art is a powerful equaliser that removes hierarchies and focuses on collective success. Here’s why it’s a winner:

Break the mould: Step away from the "same old" activities and give your team something they'll actually talk about at the water cooler. 🎤
Boosted morale: There is nothing quite like the rush of successfully creating a massive piece of art with your mates.
Communication under pressure: Coordinating a large-scale mural requires real-time problem solving and clear communication. 🔥
Zero risk booking: With no upfront payment required and backup artists ready to go, your planning is stress-free.
Inclusivity: Regardless of age or physical fitness, everyone can participate and contribute their part to the mural. 🏆

Step by step

Concept planning: We discuss your team's goals—whether it’s reflecting your brand values or just having a massive amount of fun.
Safety & technique intro: On the day, our pro artists teach you the 'can-control' basics, from nozzles to line widths.
Sketching the vision: Your team works together to sketch out the design on the wall or canvas, collaborating on every detail.
The big fill-in: Everyone grabs a can! This is where the energy peaks as the mural starts to come to life with vibrant colours.
Highlighting & detailing: Learn the professional tricks like 'cutting' and 'outlining' to make your artwork pop off the surface.
Final reveal: Step back and admire your collective masterpiece—the perfect moment for a team photo and a celebratory cheer.

Local culture

Christchurch has reinvented itself as the street art capital of New Zealand over the last decade. Following the earthquakes, the city’s blank walls became a canvas for hope and renewal, with murals now adorning buildings around every corner of the CBD. From the iconic 'Riverside' murals to the hidden gems in the SALT District, the local culture is deeply intertwined with urban art. By choosing a graffiti workshop for your team, you're tapping into the very soul of modern-day Ōtautahi.

Fun Fact: Christchurch hosted 'Rise', the first major street art festival in New Zealand, which helped launch the city's reputation as a global destination for world-class urban artists! 🇳🇿
