Is the graffiti workshop safe for people with sensory sensitivities?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for all participants. Our Christchurch artists are experienced in managing groups with various needs and ensure the environment is well-ventilated and controlled. We use low-odour professional spray paint where possible and always keep a close eye on the group's comfort levels throughout the session.

Are your Christchurch workshops wheelchair accessible?

We sure do! Christchurch has some great accessible spots, and we carefully select locations that offer flat ground and wheelchair access. If we are coming to your facility, we’ll work with you to ensure the setup allows everyone to move freely and reach the canvases comfortably. Our goal is to make sure there are zero barriers to your creative expression.

How long does a typical special needs workshop last?

Our workshops usually run between 1.5 to 2 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for keeping energy levels high without becoming exhausting. However, we are totally flexible! If the group needs more frequent breaks or a shorter, more intense burst of creativity, just let us know and we will tailor the timing to suit your specific requirements.

Do participants need any prior art experience?

Not at all. In fact, most people who join us have never touched a spray can before! Our friendly local artists will guide everyone through the 'basics of the bap'—from how to hold the can to making your first lines. We focus on the joy of the process rather than technical perfection. Everyone leaves with something they are proud of!

What is the ideal group size for these workshops?

We recommend a minimum of 5 to 10 people for the best atmosphere, but we can cater to much larger groups as well. For our Christchurch special needs programs, we often suggest smaller group sizes or higher staff-to-participant ratios to ensure everyone gets the individual attention and support they deserve. Contact us to discuss what works best for your specific group size.

What materials do we need to provide?

The best part is you don't need to bring a thing! Graffitifun provides everything: the spray paint, protective gear (suits, gloves, masks), and the canvases or boards. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of dust on—just in case! We handle all the setup and the messy cleanup afterwards.

How do I book a workshop for my Christchurch organisation?

Booking is easy and stress-free. You can start by using our online Cost Calculator to get a quick estimate, or simply send us an enquiry through our contact form. We don't require any upfront payment—you only pay after the workshop is complete. We'll chat about your date, location, and any specific needs to make sure everything is perfect for your Christchurch event.

Local culture

Christchurch has become the street art capital of New Zealand, especially since the rebuild transformed our city into a giant outdoor gallery. From the massive murals by the Riverside Market to the hidden gems in the SALT District, the 'Otautahi' spirit is all about resilience and creativity. Our workshops tap into this local energy, giving participants a chance to contribute to the city's artistic soul. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know Christchurch holds a world-class street art festival called 'Rise'? Our city uses art to bring people together, which is exactly why our special needs programs feel so at home here in the 03! 🏛️
