Is the graffiti workshop safe for people with special needs?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for all participants. Our professional artists are trained to supervise groups with diverse needs, ensuring everyone uses the equipment correctly. We also use low-odour, high-quality spray paint to ensure the environment remains comfortable for those with sensory sensitivities during their Palmerston North session.

How do you adapt the workshop for different ability levels?

We take a very flexible approach. Whether a participant needs more one-on-one time, a seated workstation, or a quieter environment with fewer sensory triggers, we adapt the workshop flow. Our artists are patient, encouraging, and experienced in breaking down the creative process into manageable, fun steps that suit every individual's pace and ability level. Everyone gets to shine here!

What should participants wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and old shoes that you don't mind getting a bit of 'artistic' character on! While we provide full protective suits and gloves, sometimes a stray mist of paint can find its way onto a sleeve or sneaker. It’s all part of the authentic street art experience here in Palmy!

How long does a typical session last?

Most of our special needs programs in Palmerston North run for about 1.5 to 2 hours. This timeframe is usually the 'sweet spot' for maintaining high engagement and energy without becoming overly tiring. However, we can certainly shorten or extend the session based on your group’s specific stamina and requirements—just let us know what works best for you.

Do participants get to keep their artwork?

You bet! One of the best parts of our workshops is that everyone gets to take home their own masterpiece. Participants usually work on high-quality canvases or boards that they can proudly display in their home or facility. It serves as a lasting reminder of their creativity and the awesome time they had getting stuck into the local street art scene.

Do we need to have any prior art skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with the basics—how to hold the can, controlling the pressure, and making simple shapes. Our 'learn by doing' philosophy ensures that everyone, regardless of prior artistic experience, feels like a pro by the time they’re finished. It’s all about having a go and having fun.

Where in Palmerston North do the workshops take place?

We are very mobile! We can host the workshop at a suitable outdoor location in Palmerston North, or we can come to your facility if you have an appropriate outdoor or well-ventilated space. We bring all the gear, including drop cloths and boards, to ensure we leave the site exactly as we found it—except perhaps with some very happy new artists!
