Do our team members need any artistic experience?

Not at all! Our Palmerston North team-building workshops are designed for everyone, from the office's hidden Picassos to those who haven't picked up a pen in years. Our professional artists guide your crew through every step, starting with basic lines and moving to advanced filling techniques. Most people are honestly surprised at how good their work looks by the end of the session—it's all about having a crack and enjoying the process!

Will we get paint on our clothes?

We’ve got you covered. We provide high-quality protective suits, shoe covers, and gloves to ensure your work attire stays pristine. While the spray paint we use is professional-grade, our safety gear is top-notch. That said, we usually recommend wearing comfortable clothes and sneakers you don't mind getting a bit of dust on, just to be extra safe while you're getting creative in the Manawatu breeze!

Can you host the workshop at our office?

Absolutely! We can bring the entire street art setup to your Palmerston North office car park, a local park, or a hired venue. If you don't have a space, don't worry—we have several partner locations around the city and the wider Manawatu region where we can host your team. We are fully mobile and arrive with all the boards, paint, and protection needed for a mess-free experience.

How long does a typical company outing last?

A standard corporate workshop typically runs for about 2 to 2.5 hours. This gives your team enough time to learn the techniques, practice their 'tags', and then collaborate on a final large-scale masterpiece. We can also adjust the timing to fit into a tighter conference schedule or expand it into a full-day creative retreat if you really want to dive deep into the street art culture.

Is it safe to use spray paint indoors?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide professional-grade masks (respirators) to all participants to ensure no one is inhaling fumes. Our workshops are ideally held in well-ventilated outdoor areas or large open sheds. Our instructors are trained in safety protocols and will be on-site to ensure everyone uses the spray cans correctly and safely throughout the entire session. No stress, just safe fun!

What happens to the graffiti art after the workshop?

One of the coolest parts is that you get to keep the artwork! Most teams choose to paint on large wooden panels or individual canvases. At the end of the session, these can be taken back to your office in Palmy to brighten up the breakroom or reception area. It serves as a permanent reminder of your team's collaboration and the 'vibes' created during your creative outing.

What is the maximum group size you can accommodate?

We are very flexible! Whether you are a small startup team of 10 or a large local department of 100+, we can scale the event to suit. For larger groups, we bring in additional professional artists and set up multiple 'stations' so that everyone gets plenty of hands-on spray time and personalized instruction. No one is left standing around; everyone gets to make their mark!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next Palmy team-building session? Because usual "corporate" activities are a bit ‘meh’, and your team deserves something memorable! Here is why we’re the best choice in the Manawatu:

Total Creative Freedom: Break out of the 9-to-5 mindset and let your team express themselves in a way they never have before. 🚀
No Stress Booking: We stay flexible! No upfront payment is required, and we have backup artists ready so your event never gets canned. 🔥
Physical & Tangible: Unlike a Zoom quiz, you’ll have a physical piece of art to hang in the office as a trophy of your teamwork. 🏆
Inclusivity at its Best: You don't need to be "sporty" or "artistic"—anyone can pick up a can and contribute to the masterpiece.
Professional & Safe: We bring over years of experience and top-tier gear, ensuring a professional, tidy, and safe environment for everyone. 🛡️

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: Meet your local Palmy artist and gear up in our protective suits, masks, and gloves.
Can Control 101: Learn the basics of how to hold the spray can, adjust pressure, and create different line widths.
Sketching Your Vibes: Grab a marker and start sketching your ideas. Whether it's the company logo or something abstract, this is where the vision starts.
Practising Techniques: Head to the practice boards to try out 'fades', 'highlights', and 'shadows' under expert guidance.
Collaborative Outlining: Work together to outline the main piece on a large scale. Teamwork is key here to get the proportions right!
Filling & Colouring: This is the fun part! Unleash the colour! Learn how to layer paints without making a muddy mess.
The Finishing Touches: Our artists help you add those 'pro' details like sharp outlines and 'shines' that make the artwork pop.
Group Photos & Review: Step back, admire the masterpiece, and take some epic team photos for the company's social media.

Local culture

Palmerston North might be known as the "Knowledge City," but it's also got a growing street art heart that rivals the bigger centres. From the stunning murals tucked away in the CBD alleys to the creative energy of the local student population, Palmy is the perfect backdrop for a creative breakout. We love drawing inspiration from the local landscape—think the turbines on the Ruahine Ranges or the flow of the Manawatu River—and incorporating those vibes into your team's designs. ✨

Fun Palmy Fact: Did you know Palmerston North has a dedicated 'Street Art Trail' that highlights dozens of local murals? The city is becoming a hidden gem for urban art in New Zealand, making it the perfect place to host your team building day!
