Do the participants need any previous art experience?

Absolutely! No prior artistic skills are required for our Fortaleza youth projects. Our professional artists are experts at breaking down complex techniques into simple, manageable steps. We start with the basics of nozzle control and simple shapes, ensuring every participant feels confident. It’s all about the process, personal expression, and having a blast with your friends while learning something new and exciting!

Is the workshop safe for teenagers and children?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective overalls to keep everyone safe and clean. Our instructors are experienced professionals who supervise the entire session, ensuring the spray cans are used correctly and responsibly. We only use high-quality paint, and workshops are typically held in well-ventilated outdoor spaces or large indoor areas across Fortaleza to ensure a safe environment.

How long does a typical youth graffiti session last?

A standard youth graffiti project in Fortaleza usually lasts between 2 to 3 hours. This timeframe allows enough time for a thorough safety briefing, an introduction to street art history, practicing different spraying techniques, and finally, creating a collaborative masterpiece. If you have specific time constraints for your event or youth programme, we can easily tailor the duration to fit your schedule perfectly.

Where in Fortaleza do these workshops take place?

We bring the workshop to you! We can host the session at your youth centre, school, or a local community space in Fortaleza. If you don't have a specific location in mind, we can help find a suitable legal graffiti wall or a local creative hub. We are fully mobile and arrive with all the necessary equipment, so we just need a bit of space to get creative.

Are these workshops interactive and team-based?

Our youth projects are highly interactive! We focus on team collaboration rather than just individual work. Participants often work together on a large communal mural, which requires communication, planning, and shared decision-making. It’s a fantastic way to build social skills, encourage peer-to-peer support, and create a sense of collective pride in a massive piece of public-style art.

What happens if we need to cancel or change our date?

We understand that plans can change. One of the unique benefits of booking with Graffitifun is our 'no-cancellation' guarantee. We have a robust team of backup artists in Brazil, so if your primary instructor is unavailable, a professional replacement will be ready to step in. Plus, with no upfront payment required, you can book your Fortaleza youth project with total peace of mind and flexibility.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your youth project in Fortaleza? It’s more than just painting—it’s about empowerment, confidence, and community connection. Here is why it works:

Instant engagement: Street art is naturally "cool," making it easy to get even the most hesitant teens involved and excited.
Team building: Creating a massive mural requires communication and collaboration, fostering better peer relationships. 💪
Safe expression: We provide a structured environment where young people can channel their emotions and energy into something positive.
Professional mentors: Our artists aren't just experts with a can; they are mentors who inspire creativity and discipline.
Visible results: There is nothing like the pride a group feels when they see a huge, colourful mural they created together from scratch! 🏆
Skill development: Participants learn about colour theory, perspective, and planning—skills that translate far beyond the canvas.

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: We kick things off with a cool intro to the history of street art and show some local Fortaleza examples to get the ideas flowing.
Safety first: Everyone gets geared up in protective overalls, gloves, and high-quality masks while we explain the golden rules of spray painting.
The technique test: Before hitting the big wall, participants practice basic lines, dots, and fades on practice boards to get a feel for the spray cans.
Sketching the vision: The group brainstorms a theme or message they want to convey, sketching out a rough plan for their collaborative mural.
The outline phase: Our professional artists help the youth transfer their sketch onto the large-scale surface, creating the framework for the art.
Fill & flow: This is where the magic happens! The participants start filling in the colours, learning how to blend and layer paint like a pro.
Sharpening the details: We add the outlines, highlights, and 'force fields' that make the graffiti pop and look professionally finished.
The big reveal: We step back to admire the finished work, take some epic group photos, and discuss what everyone learned during the session.
Clean up & chill: We pack up all the materials, leaving the site tidy, while the group enjoys the buzz of completing their very own street art project.

Good to know

Duration: Usually 2 to 3 hours, but we can adapt to your project's specific needs.

Local culture

Fortaleza is a city bursting with rhythm and colour, from its world-famous beaches to the intricate murals that line its urban corridors. The street art scene here is deeply connected to the local culture, often blending traditional motifs with modern, edgy designs. By bringing a graffiti project to the youth of Fortaleza, you're tapping into a local movement that celebrates identity and resilience.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Fortaleza is home to some of the most impressive 'Grafite' festivals in Northeast Brazil? The city uses street art as a way to revitalise urban spaces, turning grey walls into open-air galleries that tell the stories of the people! 🎨
