Do the kids need any previous art experience?

Absolutely! No prior artistic skills are needed for our youth projects. Our professional street artists are experts at breaking down complex techniques into easy, bite-sized steps. We focus on the process and the fun of creation rather than perfection. Everyone starts with the basics of can control and safety, ensuring every participant feels confident and capable by the time they start their masterpiece. Everybody can do it!

Is the spray paint safe for young people?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 masks to protect against fumes, disposable gloves, and protective suits to keep clothes clean. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated areas, and our artists are trained to supervise the group closely. We use professional-grade spray paint, but we ensure all participants follow strict safety protocols to make the experience both thrilling and secure for everyone involved.

Where in Lille do the workshops take place?

We are totally flexible! We can host the project at a legal graffiti wall in Lille, or we can bring the workshop to your youth centre, sports club, or school. If we come to you, we use large mobile canvases or cellophane 'cellograff' walls to ensure we don't leave any permanent marks on your property. We handle all the setup and cleanup, so you don't have to worry about a thing.

How long does a typical youth project session last?

Our standard youth projects in Lille typically last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives the group enough time to learn the history of graffiti, practice their 'tagging' and 'throwing' techniques on practice boards, and then collaborate on a final large-scale mural. If you have a specific schedule or a full-day event in mind, we can easily customise the duration to fit your needs perfectly.

What is the ideal age range for these projects?

We recommend a minimum age of 10-12 years old for our standard spray can workshops, as it requires a certain level of finger strength and discipline. However, for younger groups, we can adapt the project using paint markers or water-based alternatives. There is no real upper age limit—teenagers and young adults find the authentic 'street' nature of graffiti incredibly engaging and relevant to their culture.

What happens if we need to cancel or the weather is bad?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our 'no-risk' booking policy. You don't need to pay anything upfront; payment is only required after the workshop is completed and you are 100% satisfied. We also have a large team of backup artists in the Lille area, so even if an instructor falls ill, we have a pro ready to step in. Your event is in safe hands!

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: We start with a high-energy intro about graffiti culture and how it transformed from underground tags to global gallery art.
Safety briefing: Every participant gets kitted out with professional masks, gloves, and protective suits while we explain the rules of the 'spray'.
First lines: Under the guidance of a pro, the youth learn how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create their first clean lines on a practice surface.
Artistic sketching: The group works together to sketch out a theme or a 'crew' name, learning about composition and letter structure.
Filling & fading: This is where the colour happens! We teach 'filling' techniques and how to create those iconic gradients and fades that make graffiti pop.
The outline: The most satisfying part—adding the sharp outlines that make the piece stand out from the background.
The finishing touches: We add highlights, 'force fields', and 3D effects to give the mural a professional, polished look.
Photo op & cleanup: We wrap up with a group photo in front of the masterpiece, and our team handles all the tidy-up so you don't have to.
