How it works

  1. Intro & inspiration: We start with a high-energy intro about the history of street art and look at some iconic styles to get your creative juices flowing.
  2. Safety first: Your artist will demonstrate how to use the gear properly, ensuring everyone is comfortable with their masks and cans.
  3. Master the technique: Learn the 'can control' basics—how to pull straight lines, create dots, and manage pressure for different effects.
  4. Sketching the vision: Use chalk or light spray to sketch your design onto the wall or canvas, focusing on scale and composition.
  5. Filling & fading: Dive into the colours! Learn how to fill large areas and create smooth gradients and 'fades' between different shades.
  6. The outline: This is where the magic happens. We’ll show you how to 'cut' your lines to make your graffiti pop and look sharp.
  7. Details & highlights: Add those final touches—shines, 3D effects, and 'force-fields'—to give your artwork a professional finish.
  8. The big reveal: Step back and admire the massive mural you’ve created with your fellow students. It’s the ultimate photo op!

Pricing

Our university workshops are designed to be accessible and high-impact. Pricing typically ranges from лв40 to лв90 per person, depending on the number of participants, the duration of the session, and the materials required (like individual canvases vs. a large shared mural).

We believe in total transparency and flexibility, which is why we offer a no-upfront-payment policy. You only pay once the workshop is complete and everyone is buzzing from the experience!

Frequently asked questions

Do we need any previous art experience to participate?

Absolutely! Our Ruse workshops are tailored for everyone from total beginners to art students. Our professional artists break down the process into easy, manageable steps. You’ll start with basic spray techniques and safety before moving on to caps, fills, and outlines. By the end of the session, you’ll be amazed at how much you’ve learned and the quality of the piece you’ve created together. It's all about the experience!

How long does a typical university graffiti session last?

Most university workshops in Ruse last between 2 and 3 hours. This allows enough time for a proper safety briefing, a demonstration of professional techniques, individual practice, and the final execution of your group mural or individual canvases. We can also adjust the timing to fit into a specific campus event schedule or a lecture break if you’re looking for a shorter, high-energy 'taster' session.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything you need to become a street artist for the day. This includes high-quality spray cans in a massive range of colours, various nozzles (caps) for different effects, protective gloves, and masks. We also provide the 'canvas'—whether that’s a mobile wooden wall, large canvases, or a designated legal wall in Ruse. Just make sure to wear old clothes and sneakers that you don't mind getting a bit of paint on!

What happens if it rains on the day of our outdoor workshop?

Weather is the only thing we can't control, but we always have a plan B! If the Ruse weather isn't playing ball, we can move the workshop indoors provided there is a well-ventilated space available, or we can use low-odour water-based spray paint. Alternatively, many groups choose to reschedule to a sunny day. We always stay in close contact with you leading up to the event to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Is the graffiti workshop safe for students?

Safety is our top priority at Graffitifun. We use high-quality, professional equipment and provide all participants with protective gear, including FFP2 masks and gloves. Our artists are highly experienced in managing groups and ensure that everyone follows safety protocols regarding spray distance and ventilation. We only use certified paints that meet European safety standards, making it a safe and professional environment for all university students involved.

Do we have to pay in advance for the workshop?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our flexibility. To make things as easy as possible for student organisations and university departments, we don't require any upfront payment to secure your booking. You can pay after the workshop has been successfully completed. This gives you total peace of mind and makes the administrative side of organising a campus event much smoother and stress-free for the student council.

How far in advance should we book our Ruse university event?

We recommend booking at least 2 to 4 weeks in advance, especially during the busy spring and autumn semesters in Ruse. However, because we have a large network of professional backup artists, we can often accommodate last-minute requests. If you have a spontaneous event coming up, just get in touch and we will do our absolute best to make it happen for your group!
