Are the after-school graffiti workshops safe for children?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority in Ettelbruck. We provide high-quality masks, gloves, and protective suits for every student. Our professional artists are trained to supervise groups and ensure everyone uses the spray cans correctly. We use low-odour, high-quality paints, making this a safe, controlled, and extremely enjoyable environment for children of all ages to express their creativity.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard after-school session in Ettelbruck usually lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. This gives us enough time to cover the basics of street art history, practice basic spray techniques, and complete a final masterpiece. If you have a specific schedule to meet, we are happy to adjust the timing to fit your school’s extracurricular needs.

Do we need to provide any materials for the workshop?

We bring everything! Graffitifun provides professional spray cans in a wide variety of colours, protective gear (suits, masks, gloves), and the surfaces to paint on. We can set up mobile wooden walls or provide individual canvases depending on your project goals. You just need to provide the space and enthusiastic students ready to learn!

What is the recommended age for your after-school programmes?

We normally suggest these workshops for children aged 8 and up. At this age, they have the physical strength to press the spray caps and the focus to follow safety instructions. However, we can adapt our teaching style for slightly younger groups if requested. It’s a fantastic way for teenagers and primary students alike to build confidence through art.

Do students need to have prior drawing or art skills?

No experience is needed at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our local Ettelbruck artists guide the students through every step, from drawing their first 'tag' to creating complex 'pieces'. We focus on the journey and the fun of creation, ensuring every student leaves feeling like a real street artist, regardless of their prior artistic talent.

What is the ideal group size for an after-school event?

We are very flexible. Whether you have a small group of 10 students or a large cohort of 50+, we can scale our team of artists to suit. For larger groups, we simply bring in more instructors to ensure every child gets personal guidance. Ettelbruck schools often find that group sizes of 15-20 work perfectly for a high-energy atmosphere.

Can the workshop be held indoors if it rains in Ettelbruck?

We can set up outdoors in a schoolyard or indoors in a well-ventilated gym or hall. We use protective floor coverings to ensure no paint ends up where it shouldn't. If the weather in Luxembourg isn't cooperating, we have plenty of indoor solutions to keep the creative energy flowing without any mess left behind!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your after-school programme in Ettelbruck? It’s more than just painting; it’s about empowering the youth! 🚀

Unleash Creativity: There are no "mistakes" in graffiti, only new layers of art — perfect for boosting student self-esteem! ✨
Team Building: Collaborative murals require students to communicate and work together to achieve a massive goal.
Physical Activity: Moving around a large canvas is a great way to let off steam and stay active after hours.
Professional Guidance: Learn from real-world street artists who live and breathe the culture. 🎤
Stress Relief: The rhythmic nature of spray painting is incredibly therapeutic for busy students. 🔥
Zero Hassle: We handle the setup, the cleanup, and provide all the safety gear. You just provide the space!

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: We start with a high-energy intro to graffiti culture and a vital safety briefing on how to use the equipment properly.
The Art of the Tag: Students learn the basics of "tagging" — creating their own unique signature style on paper first.
Can Control: Our artists demonstrate different nozzle types and how to control spray pressure to create thin lines and thick fills.
Sketching the Concept: The group works together or individually to sketch a large-scale design for their final project.
Outline & Fill: This is where the magic happens! Students start spraying their outlines onto the wall or canvas and filling them with vibrant colours.
Adding Details: We teach advanced tricks like "fading," "highlights," and "3D effects" to make the artwork pop.
The Final Outline: A crisp final outline is added to clean up the edges and give the piece a professional look.
Group Photo: We celebrate the hard work with a group photo in front of the finished masterpiece — a perfect memory!

Our workshops tap into this energy, offering Ettelbruck’s youth a chance to contribute to the evolving visual landscape of Luxembourg. We love the local vibe here—it’s the perfect place to inspire the next generation of Luxembourgish street artists.
