Do we need any artistic experience to participate?

Absolutely no prior art skills are required! Our workshops are designed for leaders of all backgrounds. Our professional artists guide you through basic spray-painting techniques, lettering, and shading before we move on to the collaborative leadership exercises. The focus isn't on creating a museum-worthy masterpiece on your first try, but on the process of communication, experimentation, and leading your team through a creative challenge. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve!

How long does the leadership training session last?

A standard leadership workshop in Groningen typically lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This allows enough time for an introduction to the history of street art, a safety briefing, technique practice, and the main collaborative project where leadership dynamics come into play. We can also customise the duration to fit into a larger corporate away-day schedule if you have specific time constraints or want a more intensive session.

What safety measures and protective gear do you provide?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including overalls, gloves, and specialised masks to ensure no one inhales fumes or gets paint on their clothes. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated areas or outdoor legal graffiti zones in Groningen. Furthermore, our artists are experienced facilitators who ensure that the environment remains professional, respectful, and safe for all participants throughout the creative process.

Why is graffiti an effective tool for leadership training?

Graffiti is the perfect metaphor for modern leadership. Unlike traditional office tasks, graffiti requires immediate decision-making, clear communication in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to embrace mistakes as part of the creative process. It breaks down corporate hierarchies, allowing teams to see each other in a new light. It’s an effective way to practice visionary leadership, delegation, and adaptive strategy while doing something incredibly fun and memorable.

Can the workshop be held at our office or a specific location?

We are highly flexible! We can host the event at one of Groningen's vibrant legal graffiti walls for an authentic street feel, or we can bring mobile graffiti walls to your office or a chosen event venue. If you prefer an indoor setting, we use special low-odour water-based paints or large canvases to ensure a comfortable experience. Just let us know your preference, and we will handle the logistical setup.

What is the maximum group size for a session in Groningen?

The maximum group size is quite flexible. For leadership training, we find that groups of 10 to 30 people work best to ensure everyone gets personal coaching from our artists. However, for larger corporate events, we can accommodate hundreds of participants by bringing in additional backup artists and setting up multiple 'creation stations'. We always maintain a high artist-to-participant ratio to ensure the quality of the training remains top-tier.

Is there an upfront payment required for the booking?

We operate on a trust-based system for our professional clients. You don't need to make any upfront payments to secure your booking. Once the workshop is completed and your team has had an incredible experience, we will send an invoice for the final amount. This ensures you are 100% satisfied with the service before any money changes hands. It’s part of our commitment to being a reliable partner for your business development.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next leadership session in Groningen? It’s simple: the street art world requires the same skills as top-tier management—vision, agility, and bold communication. ✨

Break the Status Quo: Step out of your comfort zone and into a world where mistakes are just 'happy accidents' that lead to new ideas. 💪
Visualise Your Strategy: Literally paint your company goals on a massive scale for everyone to see and own.
Authentic Connection: Nothing levels the playing field like everyone wearing matching overalls and holding a spray can for the first time.
Instant Feedback: Graffiti provides immediate visual results, teaching leaders how to pivot and adjust tactics in real-time.
Boost Creative Confidence: Prove to yourself and your team that you can master a brand-new skill under pressure. 🎤
Stress Relief: There is something incredibly therapeutic about the 'pssssh' of a spray can—perfect for hard-working managers!

Step by step

The Briefing: We start with an energetic introduction to street art culture and how its principles apply to modern leadership and team dynamics.
Safety & Gear: Everyone gets kitted out in protective suits, masks, and gloves. Safety first, style second!
Can Control: Our pros teach you the 'language of the spray can'—from fat caps to skinny lines and the art of the perfect fade.
Vision Casting: Leaders are tasked with defining a visual concept that represents their team's goals or company values.
Delegation & Execution: The 'lead' artists must coordinate their team, assigning roles for Filling, Outlining, and Background work.
Pressure Testing: We introduce 'creative pivots' mid-session to see how leaders handle unexpected changes to the 'canvas'.
The Final Burn: Teams put the finishing touches on their masterpiece, ensuring the collective vision is sharp and cohesive.
Gallery Walk & Debrief: We review the artwork and facilitate a discussion on the leadership lessons learned during the process.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Groningen is a city with a rebellious soul and a deep appreciation for the arts. From the iconic Groninger Museum to the hidden murals tucked away in the Ebbingekwartier, the city is a living gallery. The Dutch 'niet lullen maar poetsen' (don't talk, just do) mentality perfectly matches the graffiti spirit—it's about taking action and seeing immediate results on the wall. We often host our sessions near creative hubs like the Suikerterrein, where the industrial history meets modern-day street culture.

Fun Fact: Groningen is home to some of the oldest legal graffiti spots in the Netherlands, meaning the city has been fostering urban talent for decades. It’s the perfect place to tap into that heritage of bold expression! 🏆
