Is the graffiti workshop safe for children?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun, safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and specialized FFP3 masks to ensure no one breathes in fumes. Our professional instructors in Groningen are trained to supervise children closely, ensuring a fun environment where the only thing they have to worry about is which colour to pick next. We also use low-pressure cans for better control.

How long does a typical after-school session last?

The workshop typically lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. This gives the kids plenty of time to learn the basic techniques, practice their tags, and complete a final masterpiece on their own canvas or a shared wooden wall. We find this duration is the 'sweet spot' for keeping energy levels high and focus sharp without the kids getting overtired after a long school day.

Do the kids need prior drawing or art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our artist-educators break down the process into simple, manageable steps that anyone can follow. Whether your child is a budding Picasso or has never held a spray can before, they will leave the session feeling like a pro. It is all about discovering your own style and having a blast with friends.

What should the students wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing old clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little 'creative' on. While we provide full-body protective suits and gloves, graffiti can occasionally be messy, and paint might find its way onto shoes or sleeves. Think of it as a badge of honour! It is best to leave the brand-new school shoes at home for this particular afternoon activity.

Where in Groningen do the workshops take place?

In the true spirit of Groningen's outdoor art scene, most of our workshops take place at awesome legal street art locations. However, if the Dutch weather decides not to cooperate, we have flexible indoor options or covered spots available. We ensure the creative process never stops, rain or shine. We can also come to your school premises if you have a suitable outdoor space.

How much does an after-school graffiti workshop cost?

Our standard after-school pricing in Groningen ranges from €25 to €55 per person. The final cost depends on the number of participants, the duration of the workshop, and whether we are using individual canvases or a large communal wall. We offer competitive rates for schools and youth groups, and the best part? You don't pay anything upfront! Check out our cost calculator for an estimate.

How do I book a session for my school or group?

Booking is easy! You can fill out our online contact form or use our interactive cost calculator to get an instant idea of the price. Because we have a large team of backup artists, we can almost always accommodate your preferred date. Once we've agreed on the details, your spot is reserved—no deposit required. Confidence boost: There is nothing like seeing your own 3-meter-wide artwork to make you feel like a total boss.
Expert guidance: Our artists aren't just talented; they are amazing teachers who know how to keep a group engaged and inspired. 🎤

Total flexibility: Planning a one-off treat or a weekly course? We can tailor everything to fit your school's needs.

Step by step

Introduction & safety: We start with a quick meet-and-greet where our pro artists explain the rules and suit everyone up in protective gear.
The basics of 'the can': Students learn how to hold a spray can, control the pressure, and create different line widths.
Sketching your tag: Every artist needs a signature! We help the kids design their own unique tag or nickname on paper first.
Practice run: Before hitting the final wall, students practice their movements and flares on a trial surface to get the hang of the flow.
Outline & fill: The real fun begins! Everyone starts blocking in their letters and filling them with vibrant, 'pop-out' colours.
Adding shadows & 3D: Our instructors show how to add depth using shadows and highlights to make the artwork look professional.
The finishing touch: We add 'shine' and sharp outlines to make the piece truly stand out from the background.
Photo op & cleanup: We snap some epic photos of the kids with their masterpieces before tidying up the site.
