Do I need to have any drawing or painting experience?

No artistic talent? No problem! Our Leeds graffiti workshops are designed specifically for beginners. Our professional street artists guide you through every single step, from holding the spray can correctly to mastering complex shading techniques. You’ll be amazed at the high-quality piece you can produce in just one session. It is all about having fun, getting messy, and trying something completely new in a supportive environment.

What equipment is provided during the workshop?

We provide everything you need to create your masterpiece! This includes high-quality spray paint in a huge variety of vibrant colours, professional-grade masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the 'canvas'—whether that is a dedicated graffiti wall or individual boards. You just need to show up in comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little dusty.

How long does a typical graffiti session last?

Standard onboarding workshops in Leeds typically last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the creation of your final artwork. If you have a specific schedule or a very large group, we can often adjust the timing to fit your needs perfectly. Just let us know your requirements!

Is the spray paint safe to use?

Safety is our absolute priority. We use high-quality FFP2 or FFP3 masks to ensure no fumes are inhaled, and we provide nitrile gloves and protective overalls. Our workshops usually take place in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially vented indoor studios. Our instructors are professional artists who are trained to manage groups safely while ensuring everyone has a brilliant, creative time without any risks.

Do I have to pay for the workshop in advance?

Absolutely! We are one of the few providers that doesn't require payment upfront. We believe in the quality of our workshops so much that you only pay after the event has taken place and you are 100% satisfied. This makes the booking process stress-free for organisers, especially for corporate onboarding or large team events where budget approvals might take a little time.

Where in Leeds do the workshops take place?

We can host workshops at various creative hubs across Leeds, or we can come to your location! If you have a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated warehouse at your office, our mobile team can set up there. Otherwise, we have several 'legal wall' partners around the city centre and areas like Holbeck where we can host your group for an authentic street art experience.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next Leeds-based onboarding or team event? It’s more than just painting on walls—it’s about breaking down barriers and thinking outside the box. Here’s why it works:

Instant Collaboration: Nothing says "welcome to the team" like collaborating on a massive 4-meter wall piece together. 🤝
Zero Pressure: Since most people have never held a spray can, everyone starts on a level playing field. No egos allowed!
Physical & Fun: Get the team out of their chairs and moving. It’s a great way to let off steam and get those endorphins flowing. ⚡
Tangible Results: You’ll finish the session with a literal masterpiece that represents your company's values or the team's personality.
Expert Mentorship: Our artists aren't just great painters; they are fantastic teachers who know how to bring out the inner artist in everyone. 🎤

Step by step

Safety first: We start with a quick briefing on how to use the equipment safely, including fitting your protective mask and overalls. ✨
Can control: Learn the basics of how a spray can works, including how to swap nozzles (caps) for different spray widths.
The first line: Practice drawing straight lines, circles, and dots on the wall to get a feel for the pressure and distance.
Sketching your design: Use a light colour to map out your "tag" or "piece" based on the theme you've chosen for the day. 🎨
Filling in: Learn the "filling" technique to add vibrant colours to your design without creating drips.
Outlining: This is where the magic happens! We show you how to use a "skinny cap" to add sharp, professional outlines to your work.
Adding 3D & highlights: Give your graffiti depth by adding simple 3D shadows and white "shines" to make it pop off the wall. 🔥
The final reveal: Step back, remove the masking tape if used, and admire the collective masterpiece created by the team.
Photos & cleanup: We take high-res photos of your work for your office walls before packing away all the gear. 📸

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Leeds has a rich, underground street art history that has moved from the shadows onto some of the city's most iconic buildings. From the massive "Athena Rising" mural near the train station to the hidden gems in Mabgate, the city is a living gallery. Our workshops tap into this local energy, giving you a chance to join the ranks of the artists who make Leeds so colourful. We often host sessions near the creative hubs of Holbeck or the vibrant Call Lane area, ensuring your team feels the authentic pulse of the city.

Fun Fact: Leeds is home to the tallest mural in the UK! Stretching 11 storeys high, "Athena Rising" took over two weeks to complete—though we promise your first piece won't take quite that long! 🏙️

Pricing

Our Leeds workshops are designed to be accessible for budgets of all sizes. Pricing typically ranges from £25 to £55 per person, depending on your group size, the duration of the session, and whether we are coming to you or hosting you at one of our street art spots.

The best part? At Graffitifun, we operate on a no-upfront-payment basis. You only pay after the workshop is complete and your team is buzzing with creative energy!
