Do I need to be good at drawing to participate?

No artistic experience is required at all! Our onboarding workshops are designed specifically for beginners. Our professional street artists in Rotterdam will guide you through every step, from holding the spray can correctly to mastering advanced shading techniques. You will be amazed at what you can create in just a few hours. It is all about having fun and discovering a new creative outlet in a relaxed, supportive environment.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything you need for the ultimate street art experience. This includes premium spray paint in a huge variety of colours, protective masks, gloves, and overalls to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the canvases or practice walls and all the necessary sketching materials. You just need to show up in some comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of dust on!

Is it safe to use spray paint indoors?

Safety is our top priority. We use high-quality spray paint and provide professional-grade protective gear, including FFP2 or FFP3 masks and nitrile gloves. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated areas or designated legal graffiti zones in Rotterdam. Our artists provide a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a can, ensuring everyone knows how to use the equipment responsibly and safely while having a blast.

How long does a typical session last?

A standard graffiti onboarding workshop usually lasts between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This timeframe allows enough time for a brief history of street art, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the creation of your final masterpiece. If you have a specific schedule or are combining this with a larger event in Rotterdam, we can often adjust the duration to fit your needs perfectly.

What is the minimum or maximum group size?

We are very flexible! While our standard workshops are great for groups of 10 to 60 people, we can accommodate much larger groups for corporate onboarding or brand activations. For smaller groups or individuals, we often have set dates or can look at bespoke options. Just let us know your group size, and we will tailor the experience to ensure everyone gets plenty of individual attention from our artists.

Can you host the workshop at our own location?

Absolutely! If you have a specific location in Rotterdam in mind—like your office car park or a private event space—we can bring the workshop to you. We use mobile graffiti walls and ensure the area is fully protected. Alternatively, we can host you at one of our inspiring street art hubs in the city. We love roaming around Rotterdam to bring the spray paint magic wherever it is needed!

How do I book and do I need to pay upfront?

We make the booking process as easy as possible. You can request a quote through our website using our cost calculator. One of the best parts about working with Graffitifun is that we don't require upfront payments for most bookings—you can pay after the workshop. We also have backup artists ready to go, so you never have to worry about a last-minute cancellation. Safety and fun are guaranteed!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next onboarding or team event in Rotterdam? It’s more than just painting walls; it’s about breaking down barriers and building something together. Here is why our experience stands out:

Instant stress relief: There’s something incredibly satisfying about the 'hiss' of a spray can and seeing big colours appear instantly. ✨
Zero hierarchy: Whether you are the CEO or the new intern, everyone starts with a blank canvas and a mask. It’s the ultimate leveller!
Boost team morale: Collaborate on a large-scale mural or compete in a friendly 'tag battle' to get the energy flowing. 🔥
Authentic local vibes: Learn from real artists who are active in the Dutch street art scene.
Take home the memories: Everyone takes home their own canvas piece as a lasting reminder of their creative breakthrough. 🏆
No-risk booking: With backup artists and no upfront payment, your event is in safe hands with Graffitifun.

Step by step

Intro and street art history: Meet your artist and learn about Rotterdam's unique graffiti culture and the basics of street art.
Safety first: Get geared up with masks, gloves, and overalls while we walk you through the essential safety rules for using spray cans.
The first spray: Learn how to control the pressure of the can and practice making basic lines and dots on the practice wall.
Sketching your concept: Use markers to outline your design on your canvas, taking inspiration from the bold shapes of the city.
Filling and fading: Master the art of the 'fill-in' and learn how to create smooth colour gradients (fades) like a pro.
The power of the outline: Add a crisp outline to your piece to make the colours pop and give it that authentic street art look.
Highlights and details: Add the finishing touches, like 'shines' and 'drop shadows', to give your artwork depth and personality.
Group gallery and photos: Step back and admire the collective work of the group – the perfect time for some epic team photos!

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Rotterdam is essentially a massive outdoor museum. From the massive murals in the Cool district to the legendary 'Hall of Fame' at De Blaak, this city breathes urban creativity. Our workshops tap into this local energy, often taking place near the very spots that made the Dutch street art scene famous globally. We don't just teach you how to paint; we connect you to the gritty, innovative spirit of the Maasstad.

Fun Fact: Did you know Rotterdam is home to the "Rewriters" project? They've turned entire neighbourhoods into street art galleries, proving that in this city, the walls really do talk! 🎨

Pricing

Our graffiti experiences are designed to be accessible and high-value. Pricing for an onboarding workshop in Rotterdam generally ranges from €25 to €55 per person. This variation depends on the size of your group, the chosen location, and any specific customisations you might want (like custom stencils or larger canvases).

We believe in transparency and flexibility, which is why we don't require upfront payments. You can focus on the fun and settle the details later!
