Do I need to be an artist to join the workshop?

Absolutely no experience is required! Our Edinburgh workshops are designed for complete beginners. Our professional graffiti artists will guide you through every step, from how to hold the spray can to advanced layering techniques. We believe everyone has a creative side waiting to be unleashed, and we provide a supportive, fun environment to help you find yours while making amazing street art.

What should I wear and bring with me?

We provide all the specialized gear you need, including high-quality spray paint, masks, gloves, and protective suits. While we provide coveralls, we recommend wearing old clothes and comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a little paint on—just in case! Since Edinburgh weather can be unpredictable, if we are at an outdoor spot, please bring a jacket or layers to stay warm while you create.

Is the spray paint safe to use?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 masks to filter out fumes and dust, along with protective gloves and suits. Our artists give a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can. We use professional-grade paints in well-ventilated areas to ensure everyone can enjoy the creative process safely. It's all about having fun without any risks!

How long does a typical session last?

A standard onboarding workshop in Edinburgh typically lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief history of street art, a demonstration of techniques, and plenty of hands-on time for you to create your masterpiece. If you have a larger group or specific requirements, we can adjust the timing to fit your schedule perfectly.

Can I take my artwork home with me?

Of course! We want you to show off your hard work. You'll be painting on high-quality boards or canvases that you can take home as a souvenir of your Edinburgh street art experience. They make for fantastic office decorations or unique additions to your home. Just remember to let them dry for a few minutes before you start your journey back!

Where in Edinburgh do the workshops take place?

We offer great flexibility for our Edinburgh clients. While we have designated creative spots around the city, we can also bring the workshop to your location if you have a suitable outdoor space or a very well-ventilated indoor area. We handle all the setup and cleanup, making it a hassle-free experience for your team or group. Contact us to discuss the best location!

What is your booking and cancellation policy?

Booking is easy and stress-free with Graffitifun. You can request a quote online, and we don't require any upfront payment—you simply pay after the workshop is completed. We also have backup artists available to ensure your event goes ahead no matter what. If your plans change, just let us know in advance and we’ll help you reschedule.

Safety First: Put on your protective gear and listen to our pro tips on how to use the equipment safely and effectively.
Can Control: Learn the basics of spray painting, including how to control pressure, distance, and nozzle types for different effects.
Sketching Your Idea: Our artists help you draft your design on the canvas, focusing on layout and lettering styles. ✨
Filling & Fading: Master the art of the perfect fill and learn how to blend colours together for that iconic "fade" look.
The Outline: Sharp lines make a piece pop! Learn the technique of "cutting in" to define your shapes clearly. 🔥
Final Details: Add highlights, shadows, and "force fields" to give your artwork depth and a professional finish.

Local culture

Edinburgh might be famous for its medieval Old Town and neoclassical New Town, but there is a pulsing modern heartbeat found in its vibrant street art scene. From the legal walls at New Street to the hidden gems in Leith, the city is a playground for urban expression. Our workshops capture this unique Scottish energy, blending the city's rugged charm with the rebellious spirit of graffiti. 🏰

Fun Fact: Did you know that Leith was once a separate burgh and now hosts some of the most impressive mural projects in the UK, turning industrial spaces into an open-air gallery?

When you join us for a session, you aren't just painting; you're becoming part of a local movement that celebrates individuality and community. We love incorporating local "Auld Reekie" vibes into our sessions, ensuring your experience feels authentically Edinburgh. 🦄

Because every event is unique, we want to give you the best possible value for your session. Whether you are a small startup or a large department, we have a package that fits.
