Do I need any prior art experience to join the workshop?

Absolutely! Most of our Edinburgh participants have never held a spray can before. Our professional artists start with the basics, teaching you how to control the nozzle, manage pressure, and create clean lines. By the time we move onto the main event, you'll feel confident enough to unleash your inner Banksy. It’s all about having fun and learning a new skill in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Is the spray paint safe and do you provide protective gear?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 respirators to protect you from fumes, as well as disposable gloves and protective suits to keep your clothes clean. We recommend wearing old shoes and comfortable clothing just in case a bit of 'art' wanders off the canvas. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated areas or outdoors to ensure a safe and breathable environment for everyone involved.

How long does the graffiti experience last?

A standard cultural event workshop in Edinburgh typically lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us enough time for a thorough introduction, technique practice, and the creation of your final masterpiece. If you are planning a larger festival or a more in-depth corporate brand activation, we can extend the duration to fit your schedule. We always ensure the pace feels energetic and never rushed.

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?

Edinburgh weather can be unpredictable, but we’ve got you covered! If we are planning an outdoor session and the Scottish rain decides to join us, we have several indoor backup locations available or we can use high-quality pop-up gazebos. We also have a 'backup artist' system in place, so even if an instructor is unwell, your event will always go ahead as planned. You can book with total peace of mind.

What is the minimum and maximum group size?

We are incredibly flexible! Whether you are a small group of friends or a massive corporate team of 100+, we can accommodate you. For larger cultural festivals or community events, we can run 'walk-in' style sessions where hundreds of people contribute to a giant mural throughout the day. For private groups, we usually suggest a minimum of 5-10 people to keep the energy high and the costs per person low.

Can we take our artwork home after the workshop?

Yes, you can! Depending on the workshop format (like our canvas sessions), you can often take your individual artwork home with you. For large-scale mural projects or community walls, the art usually stays as a legacy piece for the city to enjoy. If you're looking for a memento, let us know in advance, and we will tailor the session so everyone has a piece of Edinburgh street art to hang on their wall.

🔥 Stress-busting fun: There is something incredibly therapeutic about the 'hiss' of a spray can and the flow of paint.
✨ Authentic local vibes: Connect with Edinburgh's modern culture beyond the usual tourist haunts.
🎉 Memorable moments: Perfect for making memories that actually last (and look great on social media).
💪 Total flexibility: We can come to you, or you can join us at one of our curated street art spots.
🏆 Zero risk booking: With our backup artist guarantee and pay-later policy, your event is in safe hands.

Step by step

The warm welcome: Meet your pro graffiti artist at our Edinburgh street art hub and get kitted out in your protective gear.
Street art history: Dive into a quick, high-energy briefing on the evolution of graffiti from NYC subways to the Leith Shore.
Nozzle knowledge: Learn about different 'caps' and how they change the spray width, from skinny lines to fat fills.
Mastering the flow: Practice basic techniques on our 'tag wall'—learn to control drips and find your rhythm with the can.
Sketching the vision: Work with our artists to sketch out your design or the collective theme for the cultural masterpiece.
Filling it in: This is where the magic happens! Start layering colours and bringing your design to life on the canvas or wall.
The finishing touches: Add those sharp outlines, highlights, and 'force fields' that make the artwork pop.
The big reveal: Step back, admire the collective work, and take some epic group photos for the 'gram.
Wrap up: De-mask, clean up, and celebrate your new status as an Edinburgh street artist!

Local culture

Edinburgh's street art scene is a hidden gem tucked away from the Royal Mile. From the legally painted walls at Newkirkgate in Leith to the colourful murals decorating the arches near Old Town, the city is a canvas waiting to be explored. Our workshops channel that specific 'Edinburgh edge'—blending the city's historic grit with modern, vibrant expression. We often take inspiration from local legends and the atmospheric lighting of the Scottish sky to influence our workshop colour palettes.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Leith was once a separate burgh from Edinburgh and has developed its own distinct 'street' identity? Many of the city's best graffiti spots are located in this creative district!

Pricing

Our Edinburgh graffiti experiences are competitively priced to ensure everyone can join the creative revolution. Prices generally range from £25 to £55 per person.

Please note that total costs depend on your group size, the chosen location, and whether you want a portable setup or a fixed wall experience. We believe in transparency and fairness—no hidden fees, ever!

No upfront payment required! You only pay after the workshop is complete and you're 100% satisfied with the experience.
