Step by step

  1. Intro & Street Art History: We start with a high-energy chat about the roots of graffiti and how it evolved from the streets of New York to the galleries of the world.
  2. Safety Briefing: Our artists demonstrate how to use the equipment properly, including mask fitting and the 'no-nos' of spray painting to keep everyone safe.
  3. First Lines: Each student gets their own space to practice basic 'can control'—learning how to make thin lines, fat drips, and smooth fades.
  4. Design Brainstorm: The class works together or individually to sketch out their ideas, focusing on letters, 'tags', and 3D effects.
  5. The Big Mural: Students move to the main surface, applying their new skills to create a massive, colourful collaborative piece of art.
  6. Detailing & Outlining: Our professional artists show the kids how to 'pop' their work with sharp outlines and highlights.
  7. Photos & Wrap-up: We celebrate the final masterpiece! The group gets photos with their work, and we chat about what they've learned during the session.

Local culture

Street art in Edinburgh

Edinburgh might be famous for its medieval architecture and the Royal Mile, but look closer and you’ll find a thriving urban art scene. From the legal walls at New Street to the hidden gems in the arches near Waverley, the city is a canvas for local talent. Our workshops tap into this local heritage, showing students that art isn't just something found in the National Gallery—it's something that lives on the walls of our neighbourhoods. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know Edinburgh hosts numerous street art festivals? The city's creative energy peaks during the Fringe, where street performers and visual artists from all over the globe turn the Scottish capital into the world's biggest stage!

Pricing

Our school workshops are priced to be accessible, with costs typically ranging from £25 to £55 per student.

Pricing varies based on the number of pupils, the duration of the workshop, and the materials required (e.g., if students are taking home individual canvases or working on a large communal mural). We offer special discounts for multi-day bookings or large year-group sessions.
