Is the paint safe for primary school children?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide all participants with protective overalls, gloves, and high-quality masks to ensure they don't inhale any fumes. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated outdoor areas or dedicated legal graffiti walls. Furthermore, our professional instructors are experienced in managing primary school groups, ensuring that the spray cans are used responsibly and that the environment remains a safe space for creative exploration.

What is the minimum age for these workshops?

Ideally, children should be at least 6 or 7 years old to have the hand strength required to press the spray can nozzle. For younger primary school pupils, we can provide specialized caps that are easier to press or offer mixed-media sessions involving brushes and stencils. We tailor the complexity of the artistic techniques to the specific age group and motor skills of the class.

Do the pupils need to have previous artistic experience?

Not at all! Our primary school workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with the basics of how to hold a can and move on to simple shapes. Our artist-educators guide the children through every step, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their natural drawing ability, feels proud of the final piece of art they create together. It's all about participation and fun!

How long does a typical school workshop last?

We usually recommend between 90 minutes and 2 hours for primary school groups. This timeframe is long enough to cover safety, technique, and the creation of a large-scale mural, but short enough to keep the children’s attention spans fully engaged. We can adjust the duration to fit into your specific school timetable or afternoon club schedule if required.

Where in Brasov do the workshops take place?

We are totally flexible! We can bring our mobile setup directly to your school courtyard in Brasov, or we can arrange to meet your group at one of the city's legal street art locations. If you choose to have it at school, we use floor protection and temporary boards to ensure your school property remains clean and paint-free while the kids get creative.

Will the children get paint on their school uniforms?

Our workshops are designed to be mess-free for the school. We provide full-body protective suits for all the children to keep their school uniforms clean. We also use drop cloths to protect the ground. While the paint we use is professional-grade and permanent once dry, we take every precaution to ensure it only ends up on the intended canvas or mural wall.

Are there any hidden costs for materials?

We don't believe in hidden fees. The price we quote includes the professional artist's time, all spray cans, caps, protective gear (masks, gloves, suits), and the materials for the mural (like cellophane walls or boards). There are no upfront payments required; you simply pay the agreed amount after the workshop has been successfully completed and the kids are happy!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your primary school in Brasov? It’s a radical departure from traditional art classes that keeps kids fully engaged. Here’s why it works:

Boosts motor skills: Controlling a spray can require focus and hand-eye coordination.
Encourages collaboration: Creating a large-scale mural teaches children how to work together toward a common goal.
Inclusive art: Graffiti doesn't require "traditional" drawing skills, making it accessible for children who struggle with pencils and paper.
Safe and professional: We use low-pressure cans that are easier for small hands to handle, and we provide all required safety gear.
Memorable learning: Pupils don't just learn about art; they build a lasting memory associated with their school environment.
Zero risk: With our "pay after the workshop" policy and backup artist guarantee, your school's event is in safe hands.

Step by step

Initial consultation: We chat about your class size, the age of the pupils, and what kind of project you're looking for in Brasov.
Design brainstorming: We help the kids come up with a theme, whether it represents school values, local history, or just pure imagination.
Safety briefing: Our artists explain how to use the equipment safely, focusing on mask usage and nozzle control.
Basic techniques: Pupils learn how to make dots, lines, and fades—the building blocks of all great street art.
The outline phase: Our professional artist sketches the main design while the children watch and learn about scale and perspective.
Filling in: The kids take over! Using their chosen colours, they fill in the design under our expert guidance.
Detailing and highlights: We show the pupils how to add the finishing touches that make their mural "pop."
Clean up and gallery walk: We tidy up the site and allow the students to present their work to their peers or teachers.

Good to know

Local culture

Brasov isn't just about the Black Church and medieval walls; it's a city with a growing, vibrant urban scene. While the historic centre is preserved with care, the city’s creative pulse can be felt in underground passages and designated creative zones. Our workshops embrace this "Old Meets New" vibe. We draw inspiration from the surrounding Carpathian mountains and the local folklore, encouraging kids to mix traditional Brasovian symbols with modern graffiti styles. By bringing street art into a school setting here, we're helping the next generation of Brasoveni see their city as a canvas for positive, legal, and beautiful expression.
