Is the spray paint safe for primary school children?

Safety is our number one priority for primary school workshops in Dundalk. We use high-quality spray paints that are safe for outdoor use and provide all participants with protective gloves, masks, and overalls. Our artist-instructors are highly experienced in working with children and maintain a strictly supervised environment to ensure every student stays safe while having the time of their lives. We also ensure the work area is well-ventilated and secure.

Do the students need to have any previous art skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with the basics of 'can control' and simple lines before moving on to more complex techniques. Our professional artists are there to guide Every Dundalk student step-by-step, ensuring that even the quietest or least 'artistic' child feels confident and proud of what they create by the end of the session. It is all about the process and having fun!

Where in Dundalk do the workshops take place?

We are totally flexible! We can bring our mobile setup to your school playground in Dundalk, or we can arrange a session at a local creative space. As long as we have a well-ventilated outdoor area or a very large, open indoor space with protection, we can make the magic happen. Most Dundalk schools prefer the convenience of their own grounds, and we make sure to leave everything spotless.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard primary school workshop usually lasts between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the final creation of a large group mural or individual canvases. We can easily adjust the timing to fit into your Dundalk school's specific timetable or different class rotations throughout the day.

What is the ideal age for a primary school graffiti workshop?

We recommend our graffiti workshops for children in 3rd class through 6th class (ages 8-12). At this age, students have the physical coordination to handle the spray cans properly and the focus to follow the creative instructions. For younger students, we can adapt the workshop using paint markers or different creative tools to ensure everyone stays safe and engaged.

What materials do we need to provide?

We provide everything! Your Dundalk school doesn't need to worry about a thing. We bring the spray paint, protective gear (masks, gloves, overalls), various nozzles (caps), and the surfaces to paint on—whether that is large wooden panels, plastic film, or individual canvases. We just need access to a bit of outdoor space and some enthusiastic students ready to get creative!

How much does it cost per student?

The cost typically ranges from €30 to €60 per student, depending on the size of the group and the specific materials chosen (like individual canvases versus a communal mural). Because every school project in Dundalk is unique, we recommend reaching out for a custom quote. We always aim to provide the best value and can often offer discounts for larger groups or full-school activity days.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your Dundalk primary school? It's more than just painting—it's about building confidence and seeing the world through a more colourful lens!

Boosts Creativity: There are no 'mistakes' in street art, which helps kids feel free to experiment and express themselves. 🎨
Promotes Teamwork: Working on a large-scale mural encourages students to collaborate and communicate to achieve a shared goal. 🤝
Inclusive Activity: Graffiti often appeals to students who might not enjoy traditional 'pencil and paper' art, giving them a new way to shine. 🌟
Problem Solving: Kids learn how to scale up designs and work with different textures and layers. 💪
Unforgettable Memories: It’s not every day you get to 'legally' spray paint at school! The excitement level is always through the roof. 🎉
Takeaway Masterpieces: Students can create their own individual canvases to display proudly at home or in the school hall. 🏆

Local culture

Dundalk has always had a rich tradition of creativity, from its legendary musical roots to the vibrant "Seek" Dundalk Urban Arts Festival that has transformed the town's gable ends into world-class murals. By bringing a graffiti workshop to your local primary school, you are connecting your students to this growing local heritage. We love working in the "Town", where the community spirit is as bold as the colours we use. Whether your school is near the historic St. Patrick's Cathedral or closer to the bustling Marshes, we bring that urban creative spark right to your gates.

Fun Dundalk Fact: Did you know that Dundalk is home to some of the largest street art murals in Ireland? Projects during the Seek festival have featured local heroes like Cú Chulainn and engineer Peter Rice, proving that street art is a great way to celebrate Dundalk's history! ✨
