Do we need any previous art experience to join?

Absolutely not! Our Dundalk university workshops are designed specifically for beginners. Our pro artists will walk you through everything from how to hold the spray can to advanced fading techniques. Most students are shocked by what they can produce in just a couple of hours. It’s all about letting go of perfectionism and having a bit of craic with the paint.

What should we wear and do you provide safety gear?

We’ve got you covered. We provide high-quality masks, gloves, and protective ponchos to keep your clothes clean. That said, we always recommend wearing old trainers and clothes you wouldn't mind getting a tiny speck of paint on—just in case you get a bit too enthusiastic with the nozzle! Safety and comfort are our top priorities while you're creating your masterpiece.

How long does a typical graffiti session last?

A standard university workshop usually lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the final creation of a large-scale group mural or individual canvases. We can also tailor the timing to fit into your society's schedule or a specific campus event slot.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Weather in the Wee County can be unpredictable! If we’re planning an outdoor session and it pours, we have several options. We can move the workshop indoors using low-odour water-based paints, or we can set up under gazebos. Because we have a large team of backup artists, we are very flexible with rescheduling if the Dundalk weather really refuses to cooperate.

Can you host workshops in other Irish cities?

We love travel! While we are rocking it in Dundalk, Graffitifun also hosts workshops in Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Limerick. If your student union has branches across Ireland, we can coordinate a multi-campus street art tour to bring the creative vibes to every student in the country. Just let us know your locations and we’ll handle the rest.

How does the payment process work for university societies?

The best part is you don't have to pay a cent until the workshop is over! We believe in the quality of our experience, so we don't require upfront payments. You can settle the invoice after your students have finished their tags and murals. This makes the booking process completely stress-free for student union treasurers and society organizers.

Local culture

Dundalk has always had a bit of an edge, and its street art scene is no different. From the murals celebrating local legends to the hidden gems tucked away in the town's laneways, there’s a gritty, creative spirit here that we absolutely love. Whether it's the influence of the "Seek" festival or just the creative energy coming out of the creative media departments at DKIT, Dundalk is the perfect backdrop for a graffiti revolution.

Fun Fact: Did you know Dundalk is often called "The Wee County" capital? But there's nothing "wee" about the murals here—some of the town's street art pieces span entire building walls!
