Do we need any prior art experience to participate?

Absolutely not! Our Kilkenny university workshops are designed for everyone, from those who can't draw a stick figure to seasoned fine arts students. Our professional artists break down the process into easy-to-follow steps, starting with basic can control and moving into layering and shading. You'll be amazed at the high-quality piece you can produce by the end of the session with just a bit of guidance!

How long does a typical workshop last?

Standard university workshops usually run between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the creation of a final collaborative or individual masterpiece. If you have a specific schedule or a society event with tight timings, just let us know and we can tailor the duration to fit your needs perfectly.

Is the workshop safe and what gear is provided?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, disposable gloves, and protective ponchos to keep your clothes clean. We also use low-pressure spray cans which are much easier to handle for beginners. Our instructors are highly experienced in site management, ensuring the workshop area remains safe, ventilated, and organized throughout the entire creative process.

Where in Kilkenny do the workshops take place?

We are very flexible! We can host the workshop at a location of your choice on campus (with university permission), or we can arrange a creative space in Kilkenny city. If you're worried about the Irish weather, don't be—we have indoor solutions using specialized low-odour paints or can set up covered outdoor areas to ensure the rain doesn't dampen your creative spirit.

What is included in the cost of the session?

We handle everything! The price includes professional artist instructors, all spray paint, caps, safety gear (masks, gloves, overalls), and the surfaces to paint on (like large boards or canvases). We even bring plastic sheeting to protect the ground. You just need to show up in some comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of dust on.

Do we have to pay everything upfront?

No, you don't! At Graffitifun, we believe in a hassle-free booking process for students and faculty. You can book your date and confirm the details without any upfront payment. We trust our clients and want to make the administration as easy as possible. You simply pay after the workshop is completed and you're 100% satisfied with the experience.

Why is this a good choice for a university society or event?

Graffiti workshops are incredible for student engagement! They break down social barriers, encourage creative problem-solving, and provide a much-needed mental health break from academic stress. Whether it's for an induction week, a specific department social, or a cross-campus festival, street art creates a shared sense of accomplishment and a very "Instagrammable" memory of your time at university in Kilkenny.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Kilkenny might be famous for its medieval history and the stunning Kilkenny Castle, but there is a growing appetite for contemporary urban culture in this creative hub. While the city's winding lanes stay true to their heritage, the local arts scene—anchored by events like the Kilkenny Arts Festival—is always evolving. Our workshops bridge that gap, bringing a modern, "Street Art" edge to the heart of the Marble City. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know Kilkenny is often called the "Marble City" because of the local black limestone? It’s the perfect historical backdrop for the bright, neon contrasts of modern graffiti!

From the banks of the River Nore to the bustling student life near the city centre, we love bringing our mobile spray stations to Kilkenny's academic communities. Whether you're based in the city or looking for an activity near other major Irish hubs like Dublin, Cork, Galway, or Limerick, we’ve got you covered.

Pricing

We believe in transparent pricing that works for student budgets and faculty planning. Our workshops are competitively priced to ensure as many people as possible can experience the joy of graffiti.

Typical pricing: €30 - €60 per person

(Prices vary based on group size, duration, and specific kit requirements)

The best part? No upfront payment is required. You only pay once the workshop is complete and everyone is happy. Whether you're a small arts society or a major student union board, we can find a package that fits.
