Why is Kilkenny a great spot for a graffiti team building event?

Kilkenny has a rich creative heartbeat! While the city is famous for its medieval history, there is a growing appreciation for contemporary street art. Our team building workshops allow your group to contribute to this modern legacy in a controlled, professional environment. We often host sessions in central locations or can bring the entire setup to your office or a local hotel garden. It’s a fantastic way to see a different side of the Marble City.

Do we need any previous art experience to participate?

Not at all! In fact, most of our participants haven't touched a spray can since they were kids (if ever). Our professional artists are experts at breaking down the techniques into simple, manageable steps. We focus on 'flow' and creativity rather than technical perfection. You’ll be amazed at how quickly your team goes from nervous sketching to creating a bold, vibrant masterpiece that looks like it belongs on a gallery wall.

What materials are included in the Kilkenny workshop?

We provide everything you need for a successful day. This includes high-quality low-pressure spray cans (easier to control), hundreds of caps for different effects, protective overalls, gloves, and high-quality masks. We also provide the canvases or boards that you'll be painting on. All you need to bring is some old shoes you don't mind getting a bit of dust on and a positive, 'can-do' attitude!

How long does a typical graffiti workshop last?

A standard team building session in Kilkenny typically lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours. This timeframe is perfect for a deep dive into the art form without the energy levels dipping. We start with a high-energy intro and demo, move into individual practice, and finish with the big collaborative project. It’s a fast-paced, engaging experience that fits perfectly into a full day of corporate planning or as a standalone afternoon treat.

Is the spray paint safe to use for everyone in the office?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide professional-grade FFP3 masks and gloves to all participants. Our spray paints are low-odour and we always prefer to work in well-ventilated outdoor spaces or large, high-ceilinged halls. Our artists are trained to manage groups safely, ensuring everyone stays within their comfort zone while still pushing their creative boundaries. We make sure the environment is as safe as it is fun!

What happens if we need to change our booking or if an artist is sick?

We understand that corporate plans can change. That’s why we have a 'no upfront payment' policy—you only pay after the workshop is completed and you're 100% satisfied. Additionally, we have a network of backup artists ready to go, so in the unlikely event your lead artist is unavailable, we won't let you down. We’ve built our reputation on reliability and making sure your Kilkenny event goes off without a hitch.

What happens if it rains on the day of our outdoor workshop?

While we love working outdoors in the Kilkenny air, we always have a Plan B. We can work under gazebos or move the entire operation to a suitable indoor venue like a warehouse or a large community hall. If you've booked a hotel space for your day, we can often coordinate with them to ensure we have a ventilated area ready to go. The Irish weather won't stop the creativity!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next Kilkenny team day? Because it’s the ultimate equaliser. It doesn't matter if you're the CEO or the new intern; when you've got a spray can in your hand, everyone starts from the same place. Here is why it works: ✨

Unleash hidden talent: You’ll be shocked at the creative flair hiding in your finance or IT departments! 🎨
Zero stress planning: We handle the setup, the cleanup, and provide all the gear. You just show up and spray.
Tangible results: You get to keep the artwork! Hang the final canvases in your Kilkenny office as a permanent reminder of what you achieved together. 🏆
Maximum engagement: This isn't a passive activity. Everyone is hands-on, moving, and communicating throughout the whole session.
Reliability you can trust: With backup artists on standby and a 'pay-after' policy, your event is in the safest hands in Ireland. 💪
Memories that stick: Years later, your team will still be talking about the time they "vandalised" a canvas for the sake of the company!

Step by step

The warm welcome: Our pro artists meet your team at the Kilkenny venue, hand out the gear, and get everyone hyped with a brief history of street art culture.
Mastering the tools: Learn how to handle the spray can, from finger pressure to different nozzle types. You'll practice basic lines and dots on your own 'practice wall.'
The tag challenge: Every artist needs a signature! Each team member creates their own 'tag' or nickname, learning the flow of graffiti lettering.
Design & brainstorming: We move into the team phase. Groups sit together to sketch out a concept that represents your company values or a specific project goal.
Outline & fill: The big cans come out! You'll start scaling up your design onto the large boards, learning how to 'fill' large areas with smooth, even colour.
Cutting & detailing: This is where the magic happens. We teach you how to sharpen lines using 'cuts' and add those vital highlights and shadows that make the art pop.
The final reveal: We step back, peel away any stencil tape, and admire the collective masterpiece. It’s a great moment for a massive team photo!
Debrief & cleanup: We wrap up the session with some laughs about the process, and you get to decide where the new artwork will hang in your office.

Local culture

Kilkenny is famous for its "Medieval Mile," but it’s also a city that celebrates the arts through festivals like Kilkenny Arts Festival and the Cat Laughs. While the city walls are ancient, the creative spirit here is very much alive. We love hosting workshops in Kilkenny because the local atmosphere is so inspiring—there's a unique mix of history and modern Irish culture that feeds right into the spray cans!

Fun Fact: Did you know Kilkenny is often called the "Marble City" because of the local black limestone? While we don't paint on the historic stone, our workshops often use the city's sleek, modern textures as a backdrop for our bold-coloured graffiti! 🏰

From the banks of the River Nore to the shadows of St. Canice's Cathedral, Kilkenny provides a stunning backdrop for a day of team bonding. Whether you're a local firm or a multinational visiting for an off-site, our street art experience fits perfectly into the local vibe.
