The experience
Why bring a GraFFitifun workshop to your Vancouver secondary school? Because it’s the ultimate way to engage students who think they "aren't artsy" while challenging the ones who are! 🔥
- Confidence boost: Nothing beats the feeling of seeing a giant, colorful piece you created from scratch. It’s an instant self-esteem win.
- Modern curriculum: We cover color theory, composition, and typography in a way that feels relevant to 21st-century teens.
- Team building: Our collaborative murals require students to communicate, plan, and work together to create a unified vision.
- Zero stress for teachers: We bring the paint, the boards, the safety gear, and the cleanup plan. You just provide the space and the students!
- Reliability: With our backup artist policy, we never cancel. Your school event is safe with us. 🏆
- Community pride: Students gain a new respect for public art and learn the importance of legal creative outlets.

Step by step
- Intro & inspiration: Our pro artists kick things off with a high-energy look at the history of street art and the difference between graffiti and vandalism.
- The sketch phase: Before the paint flows, students hit the paper. We help them brainstorm a 'tag' or design that represents their personality.
- Safety first: Everyone gears up in suits, masks, and gloves while we go over the 'rules of the road' for using spray cans safely.
- Nozzle knowledge: We teach the kids about different 'caps'—how to create fat lines, thin outlines, and cool fading effects.
- Canvas setup: Students move to their workspace, whether it's a personal canvas or a massive collaborative school mural.
- The first layer: Time to spray! Students apply their background colors and begin 'blocking out' their main shapes.
- Refining the lines: This is where the magic happens. We guide them in adding highlights, 3D shadows, and those crisp outlines that make graffiti pop.
- The finishing touch: Students add final details, 'splatters,' and their artist signature to complete their street art masterpiece.
- Gallery walk: We wrap up by reviewing everyone's work, taking group photos, and celebrating the creative energy of the class!
Good to know
- Duration: Typically 2 to 3 hours, but we can flex to fit your school's 'X-block' or double-period schedule.
- Group sizes: We cater to everything from a small art club of 10 to a full grade level of 100+ students (with multiple artists).
- Included gear: We provide professional spray cans, specialized nozzles, high-grade respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits.
- Surface options: Choose between individual canvases (for students to keep) or a large-scale collaborative board for the school hallway.
- Artist ratio: We maintain a high artist-to-student ratio (approx 1:15) to ensure everyone gets hands-on guidance and stays safe. 💪

Local culture
Street art in Vancouver
Vancouver has one of the most exciting street art scenes in North America, and we love bringing that local energy into the classroom. From the massive murals of the Mount Pleasant district to the legendary 'legal walls' at Leeside, the city is a living gallery. Our workshops often draw inspiration from the Vancouver Mural Festival, showing students how art can transform industrial spaces into community landmarks. 🏔️ 🎤
We celebrate the unique 'West Coast style' of graffiti, focusing on the flow and movement that mirrors our local landscape. It’s more than just painting; it’s about connecting with Vancouver's urban identity.
