Do we need any previous art experience to participate?

Absolutely! Our Vancouver workshops are designed for everyone, regardless of artistic background. Most university students start with zero experience, and that's the point! Our professional artists break down the process into easy, manageable steps. We focus on technique and fun rather than perfection. By the end of the session, you'll be amazed at the masterpiece you've created with your team.🎨

What should we wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little 'artistic' on. While we provide high-quality protective overalls and gloves, spray paint can be unpredictable in the Vancouver breeze. Think of it as your 'creativity uniform'—it's better to leave the designer gear at home and wear something you can move freely in while you're shaking those cans.👕

Is the spray paint safe to use?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide all participants with professional-grade protective gear, including masks and gloves. We use high-quality spray paint and ensure our workshop locations in Vancouver are well-ventilated or outdoors. Our experienced instructors will give a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can, ensuring a worry-free environment for all students.🛡️

Can the workshop take place directly on our campus?

We are extremely flexible! Whether you want us to come to your campus at UBC or SFU, or you'd prefer to visit one of our curated street art locations in the city, we can make it happen. We handle all the logistics, from surface preparation to final cleanup. Just let us know your preferred vibe, and we'll bring the urban art studio to you.📍

How long does a typical session last?

A typical university workshop lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a solid introduction, sketching your designs, learning can control, and finally executing the main mural. We can definitely adjust the timeline to fit into your student union's schedule or event programming—just let us know what works best for your group!⏱️

Is there an upfront payment required for booking?

We believe in a hassle-free experience. You don't need to pay anything upfront! You can book your date and confirm your workshop today, and payment is only required after the event is successfully completed. We're so confident you'll have an incredible time that we want the process to be as stress-free as possible for your student budget.💳

What is the maximum group size?

Our workshops are highly scalable! We can accommodate small student clubs of 10 people or large-scale university festivals with hundreds of participants. For very large groups, we bring in extra artists to ensure everyone gets hands-on guidance. No matter the size of your cohort, we'll ensure every student gets a chance to make their mark on the canvas.👥

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next university event? It’s more than just painting; it's an experience that breaks down social barriers and sparks genuine connection. 🚀

Ultimate Stress Buster: There’s nothing more therapeutic than the "pssst" of a spray can after midterms! 😌
Real Teamwork: Designing a massive mural requires communication and collaboration that you can't get in a classroom. 🤝
Insta-Worthy Results: Your final mural provides the perfect backdrop for some epic social media shots. 📸
Expert Guidance: Work alongside real street artists who live and breathe Vancouver's art scene. 🏆
Total Flexibility: We bring the party to you—anywhere in Vancouver, anytime. 🎈

Step by step

Design Brief: We start with a quick intro to graffiti history and then brainstorm a theme that represents your faculty or club.
Sketching Session: Time to put pen to paper! You’ll sketch out your ideas and learn how to structure graffiti letters and characters.
Safety & Gear: We suit everyone up in protective gear and explain the "golden rules" of spray painting safely.
Can Control 101: Learn the basics of "the flick," pressure control, and how to create clean lines and smooth fades.
The Outline: Start the main mural by sketching the design onto the wall or canvas using light "ghost lines."
Filling & Fading: Choose your color palette and start filling in the pieces, learning how to blend colors like a pro.
Detailing & Outlining: This is where the magic happens—adding the final sharp outlines, highlights, and "power lines."
The Grand Reveal: Step back and admire the massive collective work of art your group has created together!
