What kind of paint and colours do we get to use?

Hamilton may be the Steel City, but our workshops are all about vibrant colour! We provide a wide range of premium, low-pressure spray cans specifically designed for art. You will have access to a full spectrum of hues, from neon yellows to deep blues, allowing you to create a piece of art that truly represents your university club or student house. We also provide caps for different spray widths.

Can you bring the graffiti workshop directly to our Hamilton campus?

Absolutely! While we love hosting events in local Hamilton parks or creative hubs, we are fully mobile. If your university has a courtyard, parking lot, or a well-ventilated indoor space that allows for street art activities, we can bring the entire setup to you. We handle all the floor protection and safety barriers, making it easy to host a massive student bash right on campus.

Is the workshop safe for students and what gear is provided?

Safety is our top priority. We provide all participants with high-quality FFP2 breathing masks, disposable gloves, and protective suits to keep your clothes clean. Our professional artists lead a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can. We ensure the environment is well-ventilated and that everyone follows proper "can etiquette" to keep the experience fun and hazard-free for all students.

What if most of the students have never done art before?

Zero experience is necessary! Most students in our Hamilton workshops have never touched a spray can before. Our pro artists are amazing teachers who break down complex murals into easy, manageable steps. We start with basic lines and "tagging" before moving on to shading and 3D effects. You'll be shocked at how awesome your finished piece looks by the end of the session!

How long does a typical workshop last for a student group?

We are totally flexible! A standard university workshop usually lasts about 2 hours, which is the perfect "Goldilocks" zone for learning and creating. However, we can shorten it to 1.5 hours for high-energy festival slots or extend it to 3 hours for deep-dive creative sessions. We work around your lecture schedules and event timelines to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Is there a maximum number of students who can participate?

We love big groups! Whether you have a small executive board of 10 people or a massive frosh-week crowd of over 100, we can accommodate you. For larger groups, we bring in additional professional artists and set up multiple "stations" so that everyone gets plenty of hands-on painting time without standing around waiting. It's the ultimate collaborative team-building activity for McMaster or Mohawk groups.

How do we book and do we need to pay in advance?

Booking is easy and stress-free. Once we've chatted about your group size and location in Hamilton, we'll send over a confirmation. The best part? There is no upfront payment required. You can pay after the workshop is complete. We even have backup artists on standby to ensure that your event happens no matter what. Just fill out our contact form to get started!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next Hamilton university event? Because "normal" is boring, and your group deserves something legendary. Check out why we're the go-to for student life:

Epic Stress Relief: Forget midterms—nothing beats the satisfying "hiss" of a spray can to clear your head. 🧘‍♂️
The Ultimate Icebreaker: Perfect for Frosh or new club members to bond while getting messy and creative.
Mobile Campus Setup: We bring the party to you! From Westdale to Downtown, we handle the logistics. 🚚
Pro Artist Guidance: You aren't just doodling; you're learning real techniques from some of the best in the business.
No Experience? No Problem: We guarantee you’ll walk away with a piece of art you’re actually proud to show off. 💪
Zero Risk Booking: With no upfront payment and backup artists ready to go, your event is in safe hands.

Step by step

Intro & Inspiration: We kick things off with a quick history of street art and a look at some iconic Hamilton murals to get the creative juices flowing. ✨
Safety First: Put on your protective suits, masks, and gloves. Our pros give a quick rundown on how to handle the gear like a boss.
Master the Lines: Grab a can and learn the basics! You'll practice making thin lines, fat drips, and consistent dots on your own practice space. 🎨
Design Lab: Sketch out your concept. Whether it's a "Hamilton" tribute or a student club logo, our artists help you refine your vision.
Fill & Flow: Time to add the colour! Learn how to fill large areas efficiently and how to blend colours for that professional "gradient" look.
The Outline: This is where the magic happens. We’ll show you how to use a "skinny cap" to add the crisp outlines that make your graffiti pop. 🔥
Shadows & Highlights: Add depth to your piece with 3D effects and "shines." It’s the secret sauce that separates the pros from the rookies.
The Big Reveal: We finish with a group gallery walk. Snap those photos for the 'Gram—your campus just got a lot more colourful! 📸

Local culture

Hamilton isn't just about the industrial skyline anymore; it's a massive canvas for some of Canada's best street art. From the iconic murals lining James Street North to the hidden gems in the Cotton Factory, "The Hammer" breathes creativity. Our workshops tap into this local grit and transformation, giving students from McMaster University, Mohawk College, and Redeemer a chance to connect with the city's evolving identity.

Fun Fact: Did you know Hamilton hosts an annual "Concrete Canvas" festival? It brings local and international artists together to breathe new life into the city's walls. We bring that same festival energy right to your student group!

Pricing

Our workshop prices are as flexible as our art. Depending on your student group size and the type of setup you want, prices typically range between:
