Where in Hamilton do the graffiti workshops take place?

Hamilton is famously the 'Waterfall Capital of the World,' and we often draw inspiration from the local landscape. While we usually set up at our creative partner spaces or your corporate office, we can also organize sessions near iconic areas like James Street North if permits allow. We bring the spirit of the Steel City’s grit and transformation directly into your team building activity, making it a truly 'Hammer-centric' experience.

Does our team need to have any artistic skills to participate?

Absolutely! Most of our Hamilton clients haven't touched a spray can since high school (if ever). Our professional artists are expert teachers who break down the process into easy, manageable steps. We start with basic lines and shapes before moving on to 'fill-ins' and 'fat-cap' techniques. You’ll be surprised at how quickly your team goes from 'I can't draw' to 'Look at this masterpiece!'

Is the spray paint safe to use for a corporate group?

Safety and cleanliness are our top priorities. We provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and high-standard respiratory masks for all participants. We use professional-grade spray paint in well-ventilated areas. As long as you follow our artists' instructions, the process is very safe. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you wouldn't mind getting a tiny speck of paint on, just in case!

How long does a typical team development session last?

A standard team development workshop in Hamilton usually lasts between 90 minutes and 3 hours. This gives your group enough time to learn the basics, practice their individual 'tags,' and then collaborate on a massive final piece. We can easily adjust the timing to fit into a half-day conference schedule or as a standalone afternoon 'recharge' session for your hardworking crew.

What is the minimum and maximum group size?

We are incredibly flexible. We’ve hosted intimate leadership teams of 10 and massive department-wide events for over 100 people. For larger groups in Hamilton, we bring in additional backup artists to ensure everyone gets personalized attention and hands-on guidance. No matter the size of your workforce, we can scale the experience to ensure every single person feels involved and inspired.

Do we get to keep the artwork we create during the workshop?

Yes! Unlike many other team-building activities where the results are temporary, you get to keep the artwork you create. Many of our Hamilton clients choose to take the large-scale collaborative canvases back to their offices to hang in the boardroom or breakroom. It serves as a colorful, permanent reminder of your team's ability to work together and think outside the box.

How does the booking process work and what about payment?

Booking is simple and risk-free. You can reach out via our website for a custom quote based on your group size. We don't require any upfront payment—you only pay after the workshop is successfully completed. Plus, we always have backup artists on standby to ensure your event goes off without a hitch. We make the logistics as stress-free as possible for you!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next team outing in Hamilton? It’s simple: it’s the ultimate equalizer. Whether you’re the CEO or the new intern, everyone starts with a blank canvas and a spray can. 🎨

💪 Break the hierarchy: Everyone is on the same level when learning a new, "edgy" skill.
✨ Boost morale: There is nothing quite like the rush of successfully spraying your first "piece."
🤝 Real collaboration: You can't finish a massive mural alone; it requires communication and shared vision.
🔥 Stress relief: The physical act of spray painting is therapeutic and a great way to blow off steam.
🏆 Tangible results: You’ll have a physical masterpiece to show off in your Hamilton office.

Step by step

The warm-up: Your team meets our pro graffiti artists who share the history of street art and safety basics.
Finding your 'tag': Everyone starts by sketching their own unique signature or alias on paper to find their flow.
First contact: Pick up a can! We teach you how to control pressure, distance, and angle to get those crisp lines.
The practice wall: Practice basic shapes and lettering techniques on a designated training surface.
The grand vision: The group brainstorms a theme or word that represents your company's values or goals.
Layering up: Start applying the 'fill' colors and learning how to blend shades for that iconic 3D effect.
The outline: Use high-pressure cans to add sharp outlines and 'highlights' that make the artwork pop.
The final reveal: Step back as a team to admire the massive, collaborative mural you've built from scratch.
The debrief: A fun photo session with your masterpiece followed by a discussion on how the collaboration mirrors your daily work.

Our workshops tap into this local industrial-creative spirit, giving your team a chance to contribute to that legacy. 🚀

Fun Fact: Did you know Hamilton is home to over 100 waterfalls? While we don't suggest painting on the rocks, the city’s natural beauty and "The Hammer" heritage provide the perfect contrast for our modern, urban graffiti workshops!
