What is the minimum age for a graffiti birthday party?

For Hamilton birthday parties, we usually recommend kids be at least 6 years old. This ensures they have the hand strength to press the spray nozzles and the focus to follow safety instructions. We use special low-pressure cans for younger artists to make it easier, and our instructors are experts at keeping every age group engaged and safe throughout the creative process.

Do the kids need any prior drawing or art skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with a safety briefing and a 'how-to' on basic spray techniques. Our professional artists guide the kids through every step, from sketching their first tag to adding those final 'wow' highlights. Most kids are shocked by how awesome their final piece looks, regardless of their prior art experience.

Will the kids' clothes get ruined by the spray paint?

We provide high-quality, breathable ponchos, gloves, and masks for every participant. While these do a great job of protecting outfits, paint can be a bit sneaky! We always recommend that the kids wear 'play clothes' and sneakers that you don't mind getting a little colorful. Think of it as part of the authentic artist experience—getting a bit of paint on your hands is a badge of honor!

Is spray painting safe for children?

Safety is our number one priority. We use high-quality, professional spray paint and provide all necessary protective gear. Our instructors are trained to manage groups safely, ensuring cans are used correctly and everyone stays in the designated painting zones. If we are indoors, we ensure proper ventilation, but we always prefer open-air or well-ventilated spaces for the best experience.

Can you host the party at my own home or a backyard?

Absolutely! We have great relationships with several spaces across Hamilton, but we can also come to your backyard or a local park (with permits). As long as we have a flat surface to set up our mobile walls or boards and enough space for the kids to move around safely, we can turn almost any outdoor spot into a temporary street art studio for the day.

What happens if it rains on the day of the party?

We’ve got you covered! In the event of typical Hamilton rain, we can move the workshop to an indoor partner venue or use a covered outdoor space. We also have a team of backup artists ready to go, so you never have to worry about a last-minute cancellation. We make sure the party goes on, rain or shine, so the birthday VIP isn't disappointed.

How long does the graffiti workshop actually last?

A standard birthday workshop usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us enough time for the introduction, technique practice, and the creation of the main masterpiece. We find this timeframe is the 'sweet spot' for keeping kids’ attention spans high while allowing enough time to produce something they are truly proud of. We can adjust the duration slightly based on your specific party schedule.
