Do I need any previous art experience to join the workshop?

Not at all! Our Hamilton graffiti workshops are designed specifically for beginners and tourists who have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists will guide you through every step, from basic nozzle control to advanced layering techniques. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can create something impressive under our expert guidance. It's all about having fun and expressing your personality through art.

What should I wear to the graffiti workshop?

Safety and cleanliness are our priorities. We provide high-quality protective gear, including gloves and masks. While we provide ponchos or coveralls, we highly recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on. High-pressure spray cans can sometimes have a bit of 'overspray,' so it's best to leave your favorite designer outfits back at your hotel or Airbnb!

How long does the graffiti experience session last?

A standard tourist workshop in Hamilton typically lasts between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This gives us plenty of time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice sessions, and the final creation of your masterpiece. If you are on a tight travel schedule, let us know, and we can often adjust the pace to ensure you get the full experience without rushing.

Where exactly in Hamilton do the workshops take place?

We have several fantastic locations around Hamilton! Depending on the weather and group size, we host workshops at dedicated street art spaces near the James Street North district or at unique industrial spots that capture the 'Steel City' vibe. Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you the exact pin location and easy transit instructions so you can find us without any hassle.

Can I take my graffiti artwork home with me?

Absolutely! Many of our tourist workshops are designed so you can create your work on a high-quality canvas or a portable board that you can take home as a unique Hamilton souvenir. If we are working on a larger communal wall, we always make sure to take professional-grade photos of you with your work so you have a digital memory to share with friends and family.

What happens if it rains on the day of my booking?

Hamilton is known for its grit and character, and a little rain won't stop the art! Many of our workshop locations have sheltered or indoor areas to ensure the fun continues regardless of the clouds. If the weather is truly extreme, we have backup plans and indoor studios available, so your travel plans won't be ruined by the Canadian weather. We’ve got you covered!

What is your cancellation and booking policy?

We understand that travel plans can change. That’s why at Graffitifun, we don't require upfront payments for most bookings—you can pay after the workshop. We also have a team of backup artists ready to step in, so you never have to worry about a cancellation from our side. We recommend booking at least a week in advance to secure your preferred time slot!

Local culture

Hamilton has moved far beyond its industrial roots to become a sanctuary for artists and creators. The city is famous for its monthly Art Crawls on James Street North, where the community comes together to celebrate local talent. Throughout the city, you’ll find massive murals that tell the story of Hamilton’s resilience and evolution. Our workshops tap into this "Hammer" spirit, giving you a chance to contribute to the creative energy that makes this city so special. ⛓️

Fun Fact: Hamilton actually has more waterfalls than any other city of its size in the world (over 100!), but its "mural-to-block" ratio in the downtown core is giving the nature scenes some serious competition! 🌊

While you're here, we highly recommend checking out the street art alleys between King and Main Streets to see how the pros do it before you join us for your session. From the grit of the East End to the trendy vibes of Locke Street, Hamilton's personality is etched into its walls, and we can't wait to show you why. 🏗️
