What exactly is a VIP graffiti workshop experience?

A VIP graffiti workshop is a premium, private street art experience tailored specifically for your group. Unlike standard sessions, our VIP Hamilton package focuses on high-end creative output, featuring our most experienced lead artists, extended one-on-one coaching, and premium materials. You'll work on larger surfaces and explore advanced techniques like 3D shading and complex "wildstyle" lettering in a more relaxed, exclusive setting. It’s perfect for those wanting a deeper dive into the culture.

Do I need any prior art experience to enjoy this?

Absolutely! Most of our VIP guests in Hamilton have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists are expert instructors who break down the process into simple, manageable steps. We start with the basics of can control and safety, ensuring you feel confident before we move on to the artistic elements. By the end of the session, you'll be amazed at the professional-looking mural you've helped create.

What safety gear is provided during the workshop?

Your safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, protective gloves, and full-body ponchos to keep your clothes clean. We use low-pressure spray paint which is easier to control and produces less overspray. Additionally, all our workshops take place in well-ventilated areas or outdoor spaces. Our instructors are also trained in safety protocols to ensure a worry-free creative environment for everyone involved.

How long does the VIP session usually last?

A standard VIP session in Hamilton typically lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This allows enough time for a comprehensive introduction, technique practice, and the completion of a detailed masterpiece. We find this duration is the 'sweet spot' for staying engaged and creative without getting fatigued. However, if you have a specific schedule in mind, we can often customize the timing to fit your day perfectly.

What happens if it rains on the day of our event?

Hamilton's weather can be unpredictable! If we are scheduled for an outdoor session and the forecast looks poor, we have a few options. We often have access to covered outdoor areas or indoor studio spaces in Hamilton where we can work safely. Alternatively, we can reschedule the session to a better day. Because we have a team of backup artists, we are very flexible with timing.

What should we wear to our graffiti workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on. While we provide full protective gear including ponchos and gloves, spray paint can be unpredictable in the wind. Think 'studio clothes' rather than your Sunday best! Closed-toe shoes are a must for safety. Other than that, just bring your energy and a sense of adventure!

Can we take our artwork home with us?

One of the best parts of the VIP experience is that you get to keep what you create! Depending on the setup, you'll be painting on high-quality canvases or boards that are yours to take home at the end of the day. They make incredible souvenirs and unique pieces of DIY decor for your home or office. If you're working on a massive communal mural, we’ll make sure to get high-res photos for you!

Local culture

Hamilton isn't just the steel capital; it's a hidden gem of the Canadian street art scene. From the massive murals decorating the James Street North corridor to the hidden gems tucked away in the Gasworks district, "Hammer City" has a raw, authentic creative pulse that rivals any major metro area. Our workshops lean into this local history, celebrating the transition from industrial powerhouse to a thriving hub for makers and creators. 🏗️✨

Fun Fact: Did you know Hamilton hosts the "Concrete Canvas" festival? It’s a city-wide celebration that has brought world-renowned artists to paint massive grain elevators and brick walls right in our backyard!

When you join us for a VIP session, you're not just painting; you're joining a local legacy of self-expression that defines Hamilton's modern identity. We love this city's grit, and we can't wait to show you how to channel that energy into your own art. 🇨🇦
