Do I need to be an artist to participate in the workshop?

Absolutely! No prior artistic experience is needed to enjoy our workshop at a Hamilton music festival. Our professional artists break down the process into simple, manageable steps. We focus on the "fun" in Graffitifun, ensuring that whether you're a seasoned illustrator or someone who can barely draw a stick figure, you'll leave with a piece of art you're proud of and a huge smile on your face.

What materials are provided during the session?

We provide everything you need to get creative! This includes high-quality spray paint in a rainbow of colours, protective gloves, masks, and various surfaces to paint on, such as canvases or shared festival murals. We recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting a little paint on, just in case, though our protective gear does a great job of keeping you clean while you're busy making magic.

Is the graffiti workshop safe for festival-goers?

Public safety is our top priority. We use low-odour, professional-grade spray paints and provide all necessary safety equipment, including masks and gloves. Our instructors are experienced professionals who supervise the area at all times, ensuring that the cans are used correctly and that the "graffiti zone" remains a safe, inclusive, and high-energy environment for fans of all ages within the music festival grounds.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

We offer various formats, but most individual festival sessions last between 20 to 45 minutes for a quick "drop-in" experience. For more structured group workshops, we usually run sessions for 1.5 to 2 hours. This timing is designed to give you a deep dive into the culture and technique without making you miss your favourite headliner's set on the main stage!

Can you accommodate large groups or organized tours?

We are highly flexible! While many of our festival activations are designed for individual drop-ins, we can also accommodate large groups or organized "crew" sessions. Whether you are a small group of friends or a large corporate team looking for a unique brand activation in Hamilton, we can scale our setup to fit your specific needs and the festival's overall footprint.

What happens if it rains during the Hamilton music festival?

In true Canadian fashion, we are prepared for the elements! If the festival continues during light rain, we often use tent setups to keep the artists and the artwork dry. In the event of extreme weather that forces a cancellation, our "no upfront payment" policy and backup artist availability ensure that we can reschedule or adapt without any financial stress or logistical headaches for the organizers.

Why is a graffiti workshop a good fit for a Hamilton festival?

Hamilton (The Hammer) has a gritty, beautiful industrial history and a booming arts scene found in areas like James Street North. Bringing a graffiti workshop to a Hamilton music festival celebrates this local "Steel City" identity. It connects the raw, rhythmic energy of live music with the visual punch of street art, offering a multi-sensory experience that resonates perfectly with the local community's creative spirit.
