Is the spray paint safe for children at a communion party?

Absolutely! We prioritize safety above all else. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for every participant. Our spray paints are professional-grade but used in a controlled, supervised environment. We also ensure the workspace is well-ventilated or outdoors, making it a perfectly safe and exciting activity for children celebrating their First Communion and their friends in Hamilton.

What should the kids wear for the graffiti workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting a little 'artistic' on. While we provide full protective body suits and gloves to cover your Sunday best, sometimes a little stray paint find its way onto shoes or sleeves. It’s all part of the authentic street art experience! If your guests are coming straight from the church, they can easily slip our suits over their outfits.

Do we need to provide the location in Hamilton?

Ideally, we need an outdoor space or a very well-ventilated large indoor area with permission to spray. Many families in Hamilton host these at their private residences, in backyards, or at rented community halls. If you aren't sure about a location, let us know! We can often suggest local spots or help determine if your chosen venue is suitable for a graffiti session.

How long does a typical graffiti session last?

A standard communion party workshop usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief introduction to graffiti history and techniques, practice sessions on plastic film or boards, and finally, the creation of the main masterpiece. It’s the perfect length to keep high energy without the kids getting tired before the cake is served!

Do the kids need any prior drawing or art experience?

Not at all! Our professional artists specialize in teaching beginners. We start with the basics—how to hold the can, controlling pressure, and making simple lines. We guide the kids step-by-step so that everyone, regardless of their artistic talent, ends up with something they are proud of. It’s about expression and having fun, not perfection.

What happens if it rains on the day of the party?

Rain is a possibility in Hamilton, but it won't stop the fun! If you have a garage or a covered outdoor area, we can usually proceed. If the weather is truly uncooperative and no cover is available, we have flexible rescheduling policies or we can pivot to indoor-friendly creative art activities. Because we have backup artists available, we are very reliable!

Total Originality: Be the family that throws the "coolest party of the year" with a theme nobody has seen before. 🚀
Inclusive Fun: Whether they are 6 or 16, every guest can take part and create something beautiful.
Team Building: The kids work together on one large mural, fostering cooperation and shared pride. 🤝
Memorable Souvenirs: Whether it's a group canvas or individual boards, the kids take home a physical memory of the day.
Professional Guidance: Our artists aren't just talented; they are great with kids and know how to keep the energy high. 🔥

Step by step

The warm-up: Our pro artist arrives at your Hamilton location and sets up the 'canvas' (usually recycled plastic stretch film or boards).
Safety first: Every guest gets geared up in a protective suit, mask, and gloves—they'll look like real pro artists instantly! 🛡️
The intro: We give a quick, fun history of street art and explain how the spray cans work.
Practice shots: Kids start practicing basic shapes and lines on a practice wall to get the hang of the pressure.
Design phase: We help the group brainstorm a theme—maybe the guest of honor’s name or a cool "Hamilton Steel" inspired mural.
The main creation: This is the big moment! Everyone works together to fill in the colors and add their unique flair to the masterpiece. ✨
Detailing: Our artist shows the kids how to add those sharp outlines and "pop" effects that make graffiti look professional.
The reveal: We take a group photo with the finished artwork—a perfect memory of the communion celebration.
Clean up: We pack up all our gear and materials, leaving you only with the art and the smiles.

Local culture

Hamilton is a city with a soul of steel and a heart of art. From the mural-lined streets of James Street North to the hidden gems in the Cotton Factory, "The Hammer" has fully embraced graffiti culture as a form of urban rejuvenation. We love bringing our workshops here because Hamilton kids already have that creative, industrial spark in them!

Hamilton Fun Fact: Did you know Hamilton has over 100 waterfalls? We often see kids incorporating nature themes or the iconic "HamOnt" logo into their graffiti designs during our parties! 🌊
