Do we need any prior art experience to participate?

Absolutely! Our workshops are specifically designed for people who have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists in Winnipeg will guide your university group through the basic techniques, from 'fat caps' to 'flare strokes.' We focus on the fun of the process, and you’ll be surprised at how quickly you can create something that looks totally professional and artistic. No art degree required!

Is the graffiti workshop safe for students?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep everyone safe and clean. We use professional-grade spray paint in a well-ventilated outdoor or indoor area. Our artists are experienced in managing large university crowds and ensuring that everyone follows the safety protocols while having an absolute blast making their mark on the canvas.

How long does a typical workshop last?

A standard university session in Winnipeg typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. We can customize this to fit between lectures or as a standalone evening event. The first part focuses on technique and 'tagging' practice, while the second half is dedicated to creating a large-scale collaborative mural or individual pieces that students can take back to their dorms.

What is the ideal group size for a university workshop?

We are very flexible! Whether you are a small student club of 10 or a large student union organizing an event for 100+ students, we can scale our team of artists to accommodate you. For very large groups, we often use a 'walk-in' format where students can drop by and contribute to a communal mural throughout the afternoon.

What happens if the Winnipeg weather doesn't cooperate?

Winnipeg weather can be unpredictable, but we’ve got you covered. We can host workshops outdoors at your campus or find a suitable indoor location with proper ventilation. If it rains or gets too cold, we have backup plans and indoor-safe materials ready to go. Our 'no-cancellation' policy means we have backup artists ready so your event happens rain or shine!

What exactly is included in the workshop package?

We bring the whole studio to you! Included in the price are all professional spray cans in a rainbow of colours, protective gear (suits, gloves, masks), canvases or boards to paint on, and expert instruction from local street artists. You don't need to bring a thing except your creativity and some clothes you don't mind getting a little dusty.

How do we book and when do we pay?

We’ve made it super easy for student organizers. You can book your workshop without any upfront payment; you only pay after the event is successfully completed. We also provide instant price estimates through our online Cost Calculator and have a dedicated team to help with the logistics of campus permits if you’re planning to paint on-site.

Step by step

Intro & Gear Up: We arrive at your Winnipeg campus and set up the 'spray zone.' Everyone gets suited up in protective gear to keep those university hoodies clean!
The Basics: Our pro artists demonstrate how to handle the cans, manage pressure, and choose the right caps for different effects.
Tagging Practice: Students start on practice boards, learning how to develop their own 'tag' and handle the flow of the paint.
Design Brainstorm: Whether it's a student union message or a faculty logo, we brainstorm the mural concept together.
First Outlines: The artist helps lay down the skeleton of the mural, and students start filling in the 'blocks' of colour.
Style & Decoration: Adding highlights, 3D effects, and the 'extra sauce' that makes the street art pop against the Winnipeg skyline.
The Clean Up: We add the sharp black outlines that bring the whole piece together for a professional finish.
Photo Op: The final reveal! We take group photos of the masterpiece for your university’s social media and student newsletters.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Winnipeg has a legendary street art scene, from the famous murals in the West End to the hidden gems in the Exchange District. We bring that gritty, authentic "Peg" energy to every workshop we host. Did you know that Winnipeg is actually home to some of the largest outdoor murals in North America? Our artists are deeply connected to this local culture and love sharing the stories behind the city's walls. 🏙️

Fun Fact: Winnipeg is often called "Murals City" because it boasts over 600 official murals, making it one of the most painted urban landscapes in Canada! 🎨

Whether you're studying at the University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, or Red River College, we can bring the art to your doorstep. We’ve worked all over the city, from the banks of the Assiniboine to the heart of downtown, ensuring your event has that local Winnipeg flavor. 🎤
