Do I need prior experience with spray paint to join the training?

Absolutely not! Our Kuopio training sessions are specifically designed to take you from 'zero to hero.' Whether you have never touched a spray can or you have a background in traditional fine arts, our professional artists guide you through basic motor skills, pressure control, and safety protocols. You’ll leave with the confidence and technical ability to demonstrate these skills to your students effectively.

How do you handle safety and health concerns during the workshop?

Safety is our top priority, especially in an educational setting. We cover the correct use of high-quality respirators, skin protection, and proper ventilation. Additionally, we provide guidance on how to manage a group of students safely, including the 'no-go' zones of spraying and how to handle materials responsibly. We ensure you feel 100% secure before you ever lead a class of your own.

What is the cost for a professional development session in Kuopio?

The price for our art teacher training in Kuopio typically ranges between €30 and €65 per person. The final cost depends on the size of your group, the duration of the session, and whether we are using portable canvases or a permanent wall space. Since we don't require upfront payments, you can book with peace of mind. Request a custom quote for specific pricing!

Is the training mostly theoretical or hands-on?

We follow a 'learn by doing' philosophy. While there is a brief theoretical segment covering the history of graffiti and legalities, about 80% of the training is hands-on. You will be practicing lines, fades, and fills on your own surface. We believe that the best way to understand the challenges your students will face is to experience the medium yourself under expert supervision.

What materials are included in the professional development package?

We provide everything you need to become a street art pro! This includes professional-grade spray cans in a wide variety of colours, different types of 'caps' (nozzles) for varying line widths, protective overalls, gloves, and high-quality masks. We also provide the canvas or wall space for the session. You just need to bring your creativity and wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit of dust on.

Do I receive a certificate after completing the training?

Yes, we do! Upon successful completion of the Graffitifun Teacher Training, you will receive a digital certificate of participation. This document outlines the skills you have mastered, including safety management, nozzle control, and street art history. It’s a great addition to your professional portfolio and proves your commitment to modernising your art curriculum in Finland.

The experience

Bringing street art into the curriculum isn't just about 'being cool'—it's about teaching valuable skills in a language students actually speak. Here is why our training is a game-changer for Kuopio educators: 🔥

Instant Engagement: Graffiti is a magnet for students who might otherwise struggle to connect with traditional art forms.
Confidence Boost: Master a 'forbidden' art form and show your students that creativity has no boundaries. 🚀
Technical Mastery: From 'fadings' to 'outlining,' you’ll learn professional techniques that translate to many other art disciplines.
Safety First: We teach you the professional standards for ventilation and protection, so you can run safe school sessions.
Cultural Relevance: Understand the history and ethics of the street art movement to lead meaningful classroom discussions.
Stress-Free Booking: No upfront payments and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. We aim for fun and professional excellence every time! 💪

Step by step

Initial consultation: We chat about your specific teaching goals and the age group of your students to tailor the Kuopio training session to your needs.
Introduction to street culture: Kick off with a brief, high-energy briefing on the history, ethics, and evolution of graffiti from the streets to the galleries.
Gear and safety briefing: Learn about the different types of spray cans, caps, and essential safety equipment like masks and gloves.
Basic technique practice: Get hands-on with 'can control.' You'll practice making clean lines, dots, and smooth colour transitions on a practice surface.
Lettering and 'wildstyle' basics: Move on to the core of graffiti: the letters. We show you how to build a 'tag' and a 'piece' from the ground up.
Advanced effects: Learn the secrets of 3D shadows, highlights, and 'force fields' that make artwork pop off the wall.
Classroom management tips: Our artists share professional tricks on how to manage a classroom full of students with spray cans safely and productively.
Final masterpiece creation: Put all your new skills together to create a full-scale artwork that reflects your personal style.
Review and certification: We recap the technical skills learnt and provide you with the resources to start your own street art programme.

Good to know

Our teacher training sessions are designed for maximum impact and flexibility. A typical session lasts between 2 to 4 hours, though we can extend this for multi-day deep dives. We keep group sizes intimate—usually 5 to 15 participants—to ensure everyone gets personalized coaching from our pro artists. 🎤

Everything is included: premium spray cans, a variety of caps, protective gear (overalls, gloves, and high-spec masks), and the painting surface. We take safety seriously, using low-odour paints where possible and ensuring proper ventilation at all our Kuopio locations. Plus, we have extra artists on standby, so your workshop will never be cancelled last minute! 🏆

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Kuopio has its own unique rhythm, and while it might be famous for the Kalakukko, the city's street art scene is growing fast! We love the contrast between the stunning lakeside nature and the urban canvases popping up around the Kallavesi area. During our sessions, we often draw inspiration from the local landscape, blending the organic shapes of the Finnish lakeside with the sharp, geometric lines of classic graffiti. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Kuopio is home to several legal mural spots where local artists and visitors can legally hone their craft? It's the perfect environment to transition from a teacher training session directly into the local community art scene. 🏙️

Pricing

Our professional development workshops are competitively priced to fit within school and institutional budgets. Pricing in Kuopio typically ranges from €30 to €65 per person, depending on the number of attendees and the specific curriculum requirements. 💶

Because every school and art department is different, we prefer to give you a bespoke estimate that masks sense for your goals. Request a custom quote today to receive a detailed breakdown of costs for your team! 🎨
