Is the workshop truly accessible for all types of disabilities?

Absolutely! We pride ourselves on flexibility. Whether we are working with individuals with physical disabilities, sensory processing sensitivities, or neurodivergent participants in Kuopio, our artists adapt their teaching style. We can provide stools for those who need to sit, low-pressure cans for easier control, and quiet zones if the noise of the spray becomes overwhelming. Every session is customised to the specific needs of your group.

What safety measures do you have in place?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP2 masks to ensure no one inhales fumes, along with gloves and protective suits to keep clothes clean. Our instructors are trained to supervise the use of spray cans closely, ensuring that the environment remains calm and controlled. We only use professional-grade materials that meet all European safety standards, giving parents and carers total peace of mind.

Can you host the workshop at our specific care centre?

While many of our workshops take place at designated legal graffiti walls in Kuopio, we can also bring the experience to you. If your facility has a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated indoor area, we can set up mobile cellophane walls or use large canvases. This is often a great option for groups who find travelling to a new location stressful or challenging.

Do participants need any prior artistic skills?

Not at all! This experience is about expression, not perfection. Many of our participants have never held a spray can before. Our artists guide everyone through simple techniques, like making dots, lines, and fades. We focus on the 'process' and the joy of applying colour to a surface. You’ll be amazed at how quickly everyone finds their own unique 'tag' or style.

How long does a typical session last?

A standard special needs workshop in Kuopio typically lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This timeframe is usually perfect for maintaining engagement without causing fatigue. However, we are happy to adjust the duration based on your group's energy levels. If you need a shorter, high-impact session or a longer, more relaxed pace, just let us know during the booking process.

What is the ideal group size for this program?

We find that smaller, more intimate groups work best for special needs sessions to ensure everyone gets enough 1-to-1 attention. Typically, a ratio of one artist to 10-12 participants is ideal, but we can cater to larger groups by bringing in additional backup artists. We want to make sure no one feels rushed and every participant feels supported throughout their creative journey.

How do I book and do I need to pay upfront?

Booking is simple and stress-free. You can use our online Cost Calculator to get an instant estimate for your Kuopio event. Once you're ready, reach out via our contact form. We don't require upfront payments—you pay after the workshop is complete. We also have backup artists on standby, so you never have to worry about a last-minute cancellation ruining your plans.

Tailored Pace: We never rush; we adapt the flow of the session to match the energy and comfort of each participant. 🐢
Sensory Engagement: The texture of the spray, the vibrant colours, and the outdoor environment provide a rich sensory experience.
Boosts Confidence: Seeing a large-scale piece of art come to life provides an immediate sense of accomplishment. 💪
Expert Mentorship: Our artists aren't just talented; they are patient, encouraging, and experienced in working with diverse needs.
Accessible Fun: We remove the barriers to street art, making a cool urban culture accessible to everyone in Kuopio. 🎤
Safe & Professional: From FFP2 masks to gentle guidance, we ensure a risk-free environment.

Step by step

Initial Consultation: We start by chatting with you about your group’s specific requirements and any mobility or sensory considerations we need to be aware of.
Designated Space Setup: We arrange a safe, accessible location in Kuopio or set up at your chosen facility with all the necessary protection.
Safety Briefing & Gear: Everyone gets fitted with their 'street artist' gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls, followed by a gentle safety demo.
Introduction to Tools: Our artists show the group how the spray cans work, demonstrating low-pressure techniques that are easy on the hands.
Practice Strokes: Participants start on a practice wall or canvas, getting a feel for the paint and experimenting with different nozzle caps.
Guided Creation: With the help of our artists, participants begin working on their main piece, whether it's a collaborative mural or an individual canvas.
Adding Details: We help refine the artwork, adding "shine" lines or outlines to make the colours really pop.
The Big Reveal: We take a moment to celebrate everyone's hard work, take group photos, and admire the vibrant masterpiece created.
Easy Cleanup: We handle all the messy bits, leaving the site clean and providing the finished artworks (if on canvas) for you to keep!

Local culture

Kuopio is a city that celebrates culture, from the iconic Puijo Tower to the vibrant market square. While known for its stunning lakes, the street art scene here is quietly thriving. Our workshops tap into that local creative energy, offering a modern alternative to traditional lakeside activities. We love bringing colour to the "Pearl of Savo" and seeing how the local environment inspires our participants' designs.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Kuopio is home to the famous 'Kalakukko' pastry? While we won't be baking, our graffiti sessions are just as much a staple of local fun and community spirit! 🎨
