Is the workshop safe for university students?

Absolutely. We prioritize the health and safety of every student. We provide professional grade face masks, protective gloves, and disposable coveralls to keep your clothes clean. Our instructors are trained to manage groups safely and we always work in well ventilated outdoor spaces or large studios. Safety is our top priority while you focus on the creative process.

Do students need any previous art experience?

Not at all. This workshop is designed for everyone from total beginners to art students. Our professional graffiti artists break down the process into simple, manageable steps. We focus on technique, letter structure, and can control so that by the end of the session, even those who have never touched a spray can will have created something they are proud of.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We bring everything you need to the venue in Merida. This includes a wide range of premium spray paint colours, protective gear, caps, and the surfaces we will be painting on. Whether we are using large canvases or temporary wooden walls, we handle the logistics so the university society or faculty does not have to worry about a thing.

How long does a typical session last?

A standard university workshop usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This timeline allows for an introduction to the history of street art, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice time, and the creation of the final piece. We can also adapt the schedule to fit into a specific seminar block or campus event timetable if required.

How does the payment process work for universities?

There is no upfront payment required for your booking. You only pay after the workshop has been successfully completed and everyone is satisfied with the experience. We believe in the quality of our service and want your university group to feel completely confident when booking with us. We can provide invoices for university administration departments as well.

Can we choose a specific theme for our graffiti?

Yes, we love a good challenge. If your university has a specific theme, such as sustainability, technology, or local Merida culture, let us know. Our artists can tailor the workshop to focus on specific concepts or help the students create a collaborative mural that represents a particular faculty or student union message. It is a great way to combine art with education.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day?

We usually host these workshops outdoors to ensure proper ventilation and give that authentic street art feel. If the weather in Merida turns against us, we have backup plans. We can use low odour water based paints indoors or reschedule using our backup artist network. We always ensure the workshop goes ahead smoothly regardless of minor logistical hurdles.

Local culture

Merida is a city where tradition meets modern creativity. While the city is famous for its colonial architecture and Mayan heritage, the contemporary street art scene is growing rapidly, with murals popping up in neighbourhoods beyond the Centro Histórico. Our workshops tap into this local creative spirit, offering students a chance to connect with the urban rhythm of the city. Fun fact: Merida is often called "La Ciudad Blanca" (The White City), which makes it the perfect metaphorical blank canvas for our colourful spray cans! 🎨

Pricing

Every university event is unique, so our costs are tailored to what you need. Prices depend on group size, the length of the session, and the specific setup at your Merida location.
