Do students need any prior art experience to participate?

Absolutely! Our Szombathely university workshops are designed specifically for beginners. Our professional street artists start with the basics, from how to hold the spray can to mastering different nozzle types. You don't need to be an 'artist' to have a blast; we provide all the techniques and templates necessary to ensure everyone walks away with a piece of work they are genuinely proud of. It's all about the experience and trying something new!

How long does a typical graffiti workshop last?

Standard university sessions usually last between 2 and 3 hours. This provides enough time for a health and safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the final creation of a large-scale collaborative mural or individual canvases. If you have a specific schedule or a shorter gap between lectures, we can customise the timing to fit your university's timetable perfectly. Everyone gets plenty of 'spray time'!

Is the spray paint safe and do you provide protective gear?

We take safety very seriously. We provide all participants with high-quality FFP2 or FFP3 masks to prevent inhalation of fumes, disposable gloves, and protective overalls to keep your clothes clean. We also use low-pressure spray cans which are much easier to control for beginners. Our artists supervise the entire process to ensure a safe, creative, and respectful environment for everyone involved on campus.

Where in Szombathely do the workshops take place?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our flexibility. We can set up mobile graffiti walls directly on your university grounds in Szombathely, or we can work on large canvases that students can take home. If you have a specific legal wall in the city you'd like to use, we can arrange that too. We handle all the setup and cleanup, so your campus stays tidy.

Can we create one big mural together as a group?

Definitely! While we love seeing individual creativity, we often facilitate large 'crew' projects where students work together on a single massive mural. This is a fantastic team-building activity for student unions, sports clubs, or freshers' week. It encourages communication, shared vision, and collective problem-solving—plus, the final result looks incredible as a backdrop for university social media photos!

What is your payment policy for university bookings?

We understand that university budgets and event planning can be complex. That’s why we offer a 'no upfront payment' policy. You can book your date and confirm the details without paying a penny in advance. Payment is only settled after the workshop is successfully completed. This ensures you are 100% satisfied with the experience before any funds are transferred. It’s stress-free planning at its best!

What happens if it rains on the day of our outdoor workshop?

While we can't control the Hungarian weather, we always have a plan B! If your outdoor event is rained out, we can move the workshop indoors using specialized low-odour water-based spray paints and floor protections. Alternatively, we can use our backup artists to reschedule your session to the next available sunny slot. We ensure your university event goes ahead regardless of the clouds.

The experience

Why choose a Graffitifun workshop for your next university event in Szombathely? Because "standard" is boring, and your students deserve something legendary. Check out why we're the top choice for campus creativity:

Ultimate stress relief: Nothing beats the pressure of exams like the therapeutic 'hiss' of a spray can and a splash of neon paint. 🧠💥
Insta-worthy results: Create a stunning visual backdrop that will have your university's social media feeds blowing up.
Zero risk booking: With no upfront payment and backup artists always on standby, your event planning is totally bulletproof.
Accessible art: We break down the barriers of "I can't draw" and show every student they have an inner Banksy. 🏆
Pro gear, pro vibes: We only use high-quality materials and our artists aren't just teachers—they are active members of the street art scene.
Team spirit: Strengthen student bonds through collaborative murals that require communication and creative synergy. 🤝

Step by step

Introduction & safety: We start with a quick meet-and-greet where our pro artists explain the ‘rules of the road’ and suit everyone up in protective gear. 🛡️
The basics of b-boying: Learn how to handle the can, manage pressure, and understand the different 'caps' (nozzles) used for thin lines or fat fills.
Sketching your vision: Before hitting the wall, you'll sketch out your ideas on paper. Our artists will help you refine your 'tag' or 'piece' for the best results.
First lines: Start spraying! You'll practice basic shapes and lines on your designated space to get a feel for the paint flow.
Layering & filling: Learn the secrets of 'filling in' your art without drips, and how to layer colours for that professional pop. 🎨
Outlining & highlighting: This is where the magic happens. We’ll teach you how to 'cut' your lines to make your art stand out with sharp edges and 3D effects.
Detailing & flares: Add the finishing touches—stars, drips, or glows—that transform a simple drawing into a street art masterpiece. ✨
The final reveal: We step back as a group to admire the collective work, take plenty of photos for the 'gram, and celebrate your new skills!

Local culture

Szombathely, one of Hungary's oldest cities, is a beautiful blend of Roman ruins and vibrant modern life. While the city is famous for its Savaria history, there is a growing appreciation for contemporary urban culture among its large student population. From the lively atmosphere near the leafy Pelikác Park to the creative buzz around the Berzsenyi Dániel College area, Szombathely is the perfect backdrop for a graffiti revolution. 🎨

Fun fact: Szombathely was once the capital of the Roman province of Pannonia Superior. We like to think that if the Romans were around today, they’d be trading their chisels for spray cans to leave their mark on the city! 🏛️🔥

Our workshops respect the local heritage while pushing the boundaries of modern art, giving Szombathely students a chance to add a modern chapter to the city's long history of artistic expression.
