Do we need any previous art experience to join?

Absolutely not! Our university graffiti workshops in Utena are designed specifically for beginners. Our professional artists will guide you through everything from how to hold the spray can to advanced layering techniques. By the end of the session, you'll be amazed at what you've created. Most students start with zero experience and leave with a masterpiece. It's all about the process and having a blast with your friends!

What should we wear to the workshop?

We've got you covered. We provide high-quality masks, gloves, and protective overalls to keep your clothes clean. However, spray paint is permanent and can be unpredictable with the wind, so we always recommend wearing 'work clothes'—items you wouldn't mind getting a tiny speck of paint on. Avoid wearing your freshest designer kicks or your favourite expensive hoodie just to be on the safe side!

Is the spray paint safe to use?

Safety is our number one priority. We use low-pressure spray cans which are much easier to control, and we provide professional-grade protective gear for every participant. Our instructors are highly experienced and will provide a thorough safety briefing before anyone touches a can. We ensure the workspace is well-ventilated or outdoors, making it a perfectly safe environment for university students to get creative.

How long does a typical session last?

Standard university workshops typically last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a proper introduction, technique practice, and the creation of a final large-scale piece. If you have a specific schedule or a shorter window during a student union event, we can adapt the timing to fit your needs. Just let us know your requirements when you book!

Where in Utena do the workshops take place?

We are very flexible! We can host the workshop at a location of your choice in Utena—perhaps a courtyard on campus or a nearby sports field. If you don't have a venue, we can help find a suitable legal graffiti wall or outdoor space. We bring all the boards, plastic sheeting, and materials, so we can turn almost any outdoor area into a pop-up street art studio.

Do we need to pay in advance?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our 'no stress' booking policy. You don't need to pay anything upfront. We trust our clients and prefer that you pay after the workshop is completed and you're 100% satisfied with the experience. This makes it much easier for university societies or student groups to manage their budgets without worrying about prepayments.

Can we keep the artwork we create?

Depending on the format you choose, yes! Usually, we work on large shared canvases or boards that the university can keep to decorate a common room or student bar. If you'd prefer individual canvases for everyone to take home, we can certainly arrange that too. It creates a lasting memory of the day and some seriously cool dorm room decor.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your university group in Utena? It’s more than just painting on a wall—it’s about building connections and expressing your identity. Here’s why it’s a total game-changer:

Ultimate stress relief: Nothing beats the pressure of exams like the satisfying hiss of a spray can and a wall of vibrant colour. 💆‍♂️
No 'Artists' required: You don't need to be Da Vinci. Our pros make sure everyone, even the "I can't draw" crowd, creates something awesome.
Perfect for societies: Whether you're the Basketball club or the Chess team, graffiti is the ultimate equaliser and a brilliant ice-breaker. 🤝
Epic photos: Your Instagram feed will thank you. The vibrant colours and 'behind-the-scenes' action make for incredible content.
Zero risk: With our "pay after the fun" policy and backup artists always on call, your event is in the safest hands in Lithuania. 🏆
Community impact: Create a piece of art that reflects your university's values or a specific message you want to shout about.

Step by step

The warm-up: We start with a high-energy intro where you'll learn about the history of street art and the basic types of spray cans.
Safety first: Suit up! We provide everyone with protective overalls, gloves, and masks to ensure a clean and safe session.
First lines: Under the guidance of a pro artist, you'll practice basic techniques like dots, lines, and fades on your own section of the wall.
Sketching the vision: Together, we'll sketch out a large-scale concept—maybe a tribute to Utena or a custom design for your university society.
Filling and fading: This is where the magic happens. You'll learn how to fill large areas and create smooth colour transitions (gradients).
Perfecting the outline: Learn the 'power-line' technique to make your graffiti pop with sharp, clean edges.
Adding details: Use highlights and 3D effects to give your collective masterpiece depth and character.
The grand reveal: We step back, ditch the masks, and take epic group photos with your finished street art.
The clean-up: We handle all the disposal of cans and materials, leaving the site exactly as we found it.

Good to know

We've fine-tuned our workshops to be as hassle-free as possible for university organisers. Here is what you need to know:

Duration: Standard sessions are 2-3 hours, but we can scale this for full-day festivals or short 'taster' slots.
Group Sizes: We cater to everything from small project groups of 10 to massive university-wide events with 100+ participants.
What's Included: All spray paint, protective gear (overalls, gloves, masks), professional artist guidance, and the painting surfaces.
Safety: We use high-quality, EU-certified low-pressure paint. A full safety briefing is included at the start of every session. 🛡️
Weather: For outdoor sessions, we always have a Plan B or can provide pop-up tents to keep the creative flow going, rain or shine.

Local culture

Utena isn't just about its famous brewery and beautiful lakes; it’s a city with a growing appreciation for urban culture. While the city centre is known for its tidy streets and the scenic Vyžuonaitis Lake, there is a burgeoning underground scene waiting to be explored. Our workshops tap into that fresh, Lithuanian creative energy, offering students a chance to add some grit and colour to the local vibe. You'll find that the atmosphere in Utena is incredibly welcoming to new ideas, making it a fantastic spot to experiment with spray paint without the hustle and bustle of the larger capitals.

Fun Fact: Did you know Utena is one of the oldest settlements in Lithuania, mentioned in chronicles as far back as 1261? We love the contrast of bringing ultra-modern spray art to a city with such deep historical roots! 🏰🔥
