How it works

  1. The big reveal: We start with an energetic introduction to street art history and a look at some amazing local Charleroi examples! 🎨
  2. Mastering the sketch: Students learn how to brainstorm their ideas and sketch their 'tags' or 'pieces' on paper first.
  3. Safety first: Our team gear everyone up in protective suits and masks while explaining the golden rules of spray paint.
  4. Can control 101: We teach the kids how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create different line thicknesses. 💨
  5. Practice runs: Before hitting the final project, everyone gets to spray some practice lines and shapes to find their rhythm.
  6. The main event: Kids start working on their final artwork, adding layers, colours, and their own unique style.
  7. Adding the details: Our artists show them how to add highlights, shadows, and outlines to make their work pop! ✨
  8. The grand finale: We wrap up with a group photo and a 'gallery walk' where students can admire each other's creations.
  9. Clean up: We handle the tidy-up, leaving the school grounds just as we found them (except for the awesome new art!).

Frequently asked questions

Is graffiti spray painting safe for primary school children?

Safety is our number one priority! We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls. We also use low-odour spray paint specifically designed to be safer for younger users. Before any paint is sprayed, our professional artists give a comprehensive safety briefing to ensure every child knows how to handle the equipment responsibly. We make sure the environment is controlled, creative, and completely secure for primary school pupils.

Do the children need to have prior drawing skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for beginners of all skill levels. Our professional graffiti artists are experts at breaking down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-follow steps that even the youngest primary school children can master. We focus on the joy of creation rather than technical perfection. Every child will leave the session feeling proud of what they've created, regardless of their previous artistic experience.

How long does a typical workshop last?

The duration can be tailored to fit your school's schedule, but typically a standard workshop for primary schools lasts between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This allows enough time for the introduction, a safety briefing, sketching their ideas, practicing can control, and completing their final masterpiece. We can also coordinate multiple sessions to accommodate several classes in a single school day if required.

Where in Charleroi do these workshops take place?

We are fully mobile! Most of our workshops in Charleroi take place right on the school grounds, such as in the playground or a well-ventilated indoor space. If you'd prefer an off-site experience, we can help find a suitable local legal wall or creative space. We bring everything to you—all we need is a bit of space and some enthusiastic kids ready to paint!

What should the students wear on the day?

We recommend that students wear 'play clothes' or older school uniforms that you don't mind getting messy. While we provide protective suits and gloves, graffiti can be a little unpredictable, and kids will be kids! Comfortable trainers are also a must as they'll be standing and moving around quite a bit while they work on their canvases or walls.

What is the cost per student for a Charleroi workshop?

Our pricing is flexible and depends on the number of students, the duration, and whether we are painting individual canvases or a communal mural. Prices in Charleroi generally range between €25 and €55 per student. For a precise figure tailored to your school's specific needs and group size, we recommend using our online cost calculator or requesting a custom quote.

Can we choose a specific theme for the artwork?

Absolutely! We can work with you to incorporate specific school values, curriculum topics, or local Charleroi history into the workshop. Whether it's a 'friendship' mural or a project about local icons, we help the children express these themes through street art. This turns the workshop into a powerful educational tool that reinforces what they're already learning in the classroom.
