Is the spray paint safe for secondary school students?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority for every Saint Petersburg secondary school session. we provide high-quality masks, gloves, and protective suits for every student. Our spray paints are low-odour and we always choose well-ventilated outdoor areas or large indoor spaces with proper airflow. Our professional artists supervise every single spray to ensure students use the equipment correctly and safely while having the time of their lives.

How long does a typical workshop last?

A standard secondary school workshop usually lasts between 2 to 3 hours. This timeframe is the 'sweet spot' for teenage attention spans—it gives us enough time to cover the history of street art, practice basic tagging techniques on cardboard, and then collaborate on a massive, high-quality final mural. We can also adapt the schedule to fit into your specific school timetable or double-period blocks.

What is the ideal group size for a school workshop?

We recommend groups of 15 to 30 students per artist to keep things interactive and manageable. However, we have a large team of backup artists in Russia, meaning we can cater to entire year groups of 100+ students by running multiple stations simultaneously. No matter the size of your class, everyone gets a chance to pick up a can and contribute to the masterpiece.

Do we need to travel to a studio, or do you come to our school?

We are incredibly flexible! We can bring the workshop directly to your school grounds if you have a suitable outdoor wall or playground area. If not, we can arrange for mobile wooden panels or use large canvases that can be displayed in your school hallways later. We also know some fantastic legal street art spots around Saint Petersburg if you fancy a creative school trip.

Do the students need any prior artistic experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with the basics—how to hold the can, how to control pressure, and how to create clean lines. Our Saint Petersburg artists are experts at encouraging students who think they 'can't draw.' By the end of the session, even the most hesitant students are usually the ones most proud of their contribution to the wall.

What happens to the artwork once the workshop is finished?

The beauty of our workshops is that it's a team effort. Usually, the group works together to create one giant, cohesive mural that incorporates everyone's individual styles and tags. This fosters a sense of community and shared achievement. If you prefer, we can also arrange for students to work on individual canvases that they can take home at the end of the school day.

How do we book and what are the costs?

Getting a quote is super easy! Since every school has different needs regarding group size, location, and the number of mural panels, we provide bespoke pricing. Just head over to our contact page or use our online cost calculator to get an instant estimate. We don't require any upfront payment—you only pay once the workshop is completed and you're 100% happy with the result!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your pupils? It's more than just paint on a wall; it's a transformative experience that builds skills they can’t get anywhere else. Here’s why schools across Saint Petersburg are choosing us: 🎉

Epic Boost in Confidence: Seeing a giant mural come to life because of their own effort gives students a massive sense of pride.
Ultimate Teamwork: You can't make a masterpiece alone—students learn to communicate and coordinate in real-time.
Stress Relief: The rhythmic nature of spray painting is a fantastic outlet for teenage stress and a great way to clear the mind. 🧠
Professional Guidance: Our artists are mentors who teach respect for the craft and the community, steering students away from illegal tagging and towards art.
Insta-Worthy Results: The final mural makes for an incredible backdrop for school photos and a lasting memory on the school grounds. 📸
Zero Risk, All Fun: With our backup artist policy and no-upfront-payment rule, your school's booking is safe and secure.

Step by step

Introduction & History: We kick things off with a high-energy chat about the roots of graffiti and how it evolved into the global street art movement we see in Saint Petersburg today.
Safety Briefing & Gear: Before touching a can, every student gets fitted with protective gear and learns the essential 'do's and don'ts' of spray painting.
The Sketching Phase: Students grab markers and paper to brainstorm ideas, focusing on typography, 3D effects, and the overall theme of their mural.
Mastering the Can: Our pro artists demonstrate 'Can Control'—teaching students how to adjust their distance and speed to create different line widths and fades.
Outline & Fill: This is where the magic happens! Students start applying their designs to the wall or panels, filling in large areas with bold, vibrant colours.
Detailing & Outlining: We teach the trickier stuff, like 'cutting' lines to make them sharp and adding highlights that make the artwork pop off the surface.
The Collective Finish: The group works together to add final touches, ensuring the entire mural looks like a professional piece of urban art.
The Big Reveal & Photos: We finish with a group photo session in front of the masterpiece—perfect for the school's social media or newsletter!

Local culture

Saint Petersburg might be famous for its classical Hermitage and baroque palaces, but beneath the imperial surface lies a beating heart of modern street art. From the hidden gems in the Pushkinskaya-10 arts centre to the sprawling murals at the Street Art Museum (the only one of its kind in a working factory!), the city is a playground for urban creators. 🏙️

Our workshops tap into this local 'Piter' vibe, encouraging students to draw inspiration from both the city's grand history and its edgy, contemporary underground scene. We don't just teach graffiti; we celebrate the specific artistic spirit of Saint Petersburg. 💪

Fun Fact: Did you know Saint Petersburg is home to the world's first museum dedicated entirely to street art? It's located in an old plastics factory and proves that even the most industrial spaces can become a canvas for something beautiful! 🎤
