Is the spray paint safe for secondary school students?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, disposable gloves, and protective suits for every student. Our spray paints are low-odour and we always conduct our Samara secondary school workshops in well-ventilated outdoor areas or large open spaces. Plus, our professional artists are trained to supervise groups, ensuring everyone uses the equipment correctly while having a blast.

Do students need previous artistic experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Whether a student is a natural illustrator or has never held a can before, our 'sketch-to-spray' method ensures everyone creates something they are proud of. We focus on basic techniques like outlines, fills, and highlights, making it accessible and rewarding for every single teenager in the group.

How long does a typical school workshop last?

A standard secondary school workshop in Samara usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a crash course in graffiti history, practicing basic lines, and finally creating a collaborative masterpiece. We can also adapt the timing to fit into your specific school timetable or double-lesson blocks if needed.

Can you host the workshop at our school?

We are totally flexible! We can come directly to your school grounds in Samara and set up temporary wooden panels or use large canvases. This saves you the hassle of organising transport. If you’d prefer an off-site experience, we can also arrange for the workshop to take place at a local urban art spot or a dedicated creative studio.

What are the educational benefits of a graffiti workshop?

Street art is a fantastic tool for team building, boosting self-esteem, and encouraging out-of-the-box thinking. It’s a physical, tactile medium that often engages students who might struggle with traditional sit-down subjects. It also teaches the importance of planning and collaboration, as students usually work together on a large-scale mural that represents their class or school values.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Since our Samara workshops take place outdoors, we do keep an eye on the clouds. If light rain is forecast, we can usually work under gazebos or find a sheltered spot. If the weather is looking truly biblical, we can either move the event to an indoor sports hall using water-based paint markers/canvases or reschedule to a better day at no extra cost.

Do we need to pay in advance to book?

We believe in our service so much that we don't require any payment before the workshop takes place. You can settle the invoice after the session is finished and you’ve seen the smiles on the students' faces. We also have a network of backup artists available, so even if an instructor falls ill, your event will still go ahead as planned!

Step by step

The intro: We kick off with a high-energy intro into the world of graffiti culture and the transition from street tagging to fine art.
Safety first: Every student gets kitted out in protective gear, including masks and gloves, while we explain the "dos and don'ts" of spray painting.
Sketching session: Before hitting the wall, students grab paper and pencils to brainstorm their designs and understand letter structure.
First lines: Under the guidance of our pros, students learn how to control the pressure of the spray can to create thin and thick lines.
The fill-in: This is where the colour happens! Students learn how to apply smooth, even coats of paint to fill their 3D letters.
Adding 'the funk': We teach cool techniques like shadows, shines, and 'bubbles' to make the artwork pop off the canvas or wall.
The outline: The final touch where students use a contrasting colour to sharpen their design and make it look professional.
Group photo: We finish by celebrating the collective mural and taking photos of the class with their completed urban masterpiece!

Local culture

Samara is a city with a hidden creative soul, far beyond its famous aerospace history. From the bustling shadows of the Kuybyshev Square to the scenic vistas along the Volga River Embankment, there is an urban energy here that is perfect for street art exploration. Samara has seen a growing interest in public murals over the last decade, with local artists blending traditional themes with modern, edgy styles. Our workshops tap into this local spirit, giving Samara’s youth the tools to contribute to their city's evolving visual story.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Samara is home to one of the tallest residential buildings in Russia? The sheer scale of the city's architecture provides the perfect backdrop for dreaming big—exactly what we encourage students to do when they pick up a spray can!
