Do I need to have any artistic skills to participate?

Absolutely no experience is required! Our Winterthur workshops are designed specifically for beginners. Our professional street artists will guide you through every step, from how to hold the spray can to advanced layering techniques. You will be amazed at what you can create in just a couple of hours. We provide a supportive, high-energy environment where the goal is to have fun and experiment with your own unique style.

Is it safe to use spray paint indoors or outdoors?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including professional-grade masks and gloves, to ensure you don't inhale paint fumes or get messy. We also use low-odour professional spray paint whenever possible. Our artists provide a full safety briefing before we start, teaching you the 'dos and don'ts' of using spray cans effectively and safely in a public or private setting.

What should I wear to a graffiti workshop?

We recommend wearing old clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a few speckles of paint on. Although we provide protective overalls and gloves, graffiti can be a bit unpredictable, and a stray spray of paint is always a possibility! Think 'comfort over fashion' so you can move freely while you work on your masterpiece. Stable, closed-toe shoes are a must for safety.

How long does a typical session last?

A standard public art workshop in Winterthur usually lasts between 90 minutes and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a solid introduction, some practice runs on the 'training wall,' and then the creation of your final piece. If you are part of a larger team or looking for a more intensive masterclass, we can easily extend the duration to suit your needs.

Do I need to pay in advance to book?

We believe in the quality of our experience, which is why we don't require any upfront payment for our standard workshops. You can book your date and secure your instructor, and then pay after the workshop is complete. This keeps things stress-free for you and ensures we are 100% committed to delivering a fantastic experience that leaves everyone smiling.

What happens if it rains on the day of my workshop?

Winterthur weather can be temperamental! If we are planning an outdoor session and rain is forecast, we have several options. We can often move the workshop to a covered outdoor area or an indoor location. Because we have a large team and flexible setups, we can usually adapt the plan at short notice to ensure your creative session goes ahead regardless of the clouds.

Can I take my artwork home with me?

While we often work on large collective murals, you can definitely take your creativity home! We offer options to spray on individual canvases or boards that you can keep. Many of our Winterthur participants love having a physical piece of street art to hang on their wall as a memory of the day. Just let us know your preference when booking so we have the right materials ready!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti experience for your next outing in Winterthur? It’s more than just painting; it’s about breaking boundaries and building something together. Here is why it’s a total game-changer:

Stress-free booking: No upfront payment Required—we trust you, and we’re confident you’ll love the experience! 🤝
Expert guidance: Our artists aren't just teachers; they are active members of the street art scene who live and breathe this stuff.
Total inclusivity: You don’t need to be 'good at drawing.' Graffiti is about flow, energy, and having a blast. Anyone can do it! 🏆
The ultimate ice-breaker: Nothing bonds a group like creating a 5-metre tall mural together. It’s perfect for company events or bachelor parties. 🔥
Tailored for you: We adapt the style and complexity to your group’s vibe, ensuring everyone walks away feeling like a pro.
Cancellations are a myth: With our bench of backup artists, we ensure your event happens no matter what. Reliability is our middle name! 💪

Step by step

The warm-up: We start with a quick introduction to graffiti culture and the tools of the trade. You'll learn the difference between various 'caps' (nozzles) and how they change your line width. ✨
First lines: Pick up a can and get a feel for the pressure. You'll practice basic lines, dots, and curves on a practice wall to build your confidence.
Sketching your vision: Every great piece starts with a plan. You'll sketch out your design on paper or lightly on the wall, deciding on your 'tag' or main imagery. 🎨
Fill-ins: Once the outline is set, it's time to bring it to life with colour! You'll learn how to fill large areas efficiently without creating those pesky drips.
Outlining and highlights: This is where the magic happens. We'll show you how to 'cut' your lines with a sharp outline and add 3D effects and highlights to make the art pop. 🔥
Style elements: Add your personal flair! Whether it's 'bubbles,' 'arrows,' or 'splatters,' our artists will help you add those professional street art touches.
The grand reveal: Step back and admire the collective work! We'll take group photos of your masterpiece before we wrap up the session. 📸

Good to know

Duration: Usually 1.5 to 3 hours, but we can customise this to fit your schedule. ⏳
Group sizes: Whether it's an intimate group of 5 or a massive team of 100+, we have the gear and staff to handle it.
What's included: All spray cans (a huge range of colours!), high-quality protective gear (masks, gloves, overalls), and professional artist guidance.
Safety first: We use certified equipment and provide a comprehensive safety briefing. Our masks are top-tier to ensure you breathe only fresh air while you spray.
Location: We use various legal walls and creative spaces across Winterthur, or we can even come to your location with our mobile setups! 📍

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Winterthur has a long-standing reputation as Switzerland’s 'City of Museums,' but there is a vibrant, underground pulse that beats through areas like the Sulzer Areal. This industrial-turned-creative hub is the perfect backdrop for our sessions, echoing the raw energy of urban transformation. While the Oskar Reinhart collection offers the classics, we are here to celebrate the modern, ephemeral beauty of street art! 🏗️

Fun fact: Winterthur's youth culture scene is one of the most active in Switzerland, often hosting secret jams and temporary art interventions that turn grey concrete into vibrant community landmarks. When you join us, you aren't just spraying paint; you're joining a living tradition of urban expression in one of Switzerland's most creative cities.

Pricing

Our Winterthur graffiti workshops are competitively priced to ensure everyone can get a taste of the street art life. Prices typically range from CHF40 to CHF85 per person. 💰

Please note that the final price depends on your group size, the chosen location, and the specific materials required (like individual canvases or a giant mural wall). We pride ourselves on transparency—no hidden fees, and you don't even have to pay until the job is done!
