What is the age range for the graffiti summer camp?

Most participants at our Winterthur summer camps are between 8 and 16 years old. We usually group campers by age so the teens can focus on complex mural techniques while the younger ones enjoy more tactile, playful sessions. This ensures everyone feels comfortable and challenged at their own level. If your child is slightly outside this range, just drop us a message – we’re usually happy to accommodate creative spirits of all ages!

Is spray painting safe for children and teenagers?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including overalls, gloves, and professional-grade masks to ensure no one breathes in fumes. We also use low-odour professional spray paint designed for artistic use. Our instructors are experienced pros who teach the 'rules of the road' for spray painting, ensuring a controlled, safe, and super fun environment for everyone involved. 🎨✨

Do the kids need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our Summer Camp is designed for everyone from total beginners to budding young Picassos. We start with the absolute basics—how to hold the can, finger pressure, and making simple lines. By the end of the week, even those who thought they couldn't draw a stick figure will be amazed at the vibrant, professional-looking graffiti piece they've created. It’s all about building confidence and having a blast!

What should my child wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable 'play' clothes and old trainers that you don't mind getting a little dusty or stained. While we provide full protective suits and gloves, graffiti can occasionally be a bit messy, and paint has a way of finding its way onto shoes! It’s best to leave the brand-new holiday outfits at home and come ready to get stuck into some serious creative work.

What happens if it rains during the outdoor sessions?

Winterthur’s weather can be unpredictable, but the art never stops! We have access to sheltered outdoor areas and indoor creative spaces where we can work on canvas designs, sketching, and 'stencil art' if the rain gets too heavy. We always have a 'Plan B' to ensure the campers stay dry and the spray cans keep clicking. Your creative summer experience is guaranteed, rain or shine! 🌦️💪

Are materials included in the price?

Everything is included! The price covers all the premium spray paint, safety gear (masks, gloves, suits), high-quality canvases or practice boards, and expert instruction from professional artists. Every participant also gets to take home their own masterpiece on canvas at the end of the week. There are no hidden costs; we provide all the tools needed to turn Winterthur into a temporary open-air gallery!

How do I book a spot for the Winterthur summer camp?

Booking is easy! Use our online Cost Calculator to get an instant estimate, or simply fill out our contact form. Because our summer camps in Winterthur are popular and group sizes are kept small for quality, we recommend booking a few weeks in advance. No upfront payment is required – you can pay after the workshop concludes, giving you total peace of mind for your summer planning.

The experience

Why choose our graffiti workshop for your child's summer break? It’s simple: we combine professional skill-building with pure, unadulterated fun. Here’s why we’re the top choice in Winterthur:

Unlock True Creativity: We move beyond the lines. We encourage kids to find their own style—be it wildstyle, characters, or sleek stencils. ✨

Full Safety Kit: No "messy clothes" worries! We provide top-tier protective gear, masks, and skin-safe paints. 🛡️
Social Vibes: It's a fantastic way to meet other creative youth in Winterthur. Collaboration on murals teaches teamwork like nothing else.
Take Home the Glory: Every participant leaves with a high-quality finished canvas—a permanent trophy of their summer achievement. 🏆
Worry-Free Booking: Use our Tag Creator or Cost Calculator to plan, and enjoy our "pay after the workshop" policy. No stress, just art!

Step by step

The Big Welcome: We kick things off with a high-energy intro, meeting the pro artists and getting to know the rest of the crew.
Sketching the Vision: Before grabbing a can, we hit the paper! Campers learn how to build 'tags' and 'bubbles' using pencils and markers.
Safety & Gear Up: Everyone gets fitted with their professional mask, suit, and gloves. We explain the safety rules so everyone stays protected.
Can Control 101: This is where the fun begins! We teach the 'nozzle dance'—how to control pressure, distance, and speed to make perfect lines.
The Collective Mural: Working together, the group practices on a large-scale wall, learning how to blend colours and create massive backgrounds.
Individual Masterpiece: Every camper gets their own canvas to create an original piece of art, applying all the tricks they've learned.
Detailing & Outlining: Our pros show how to add 'highlights' and '3D effects' to make the artwork really pop off the surface.
The Gallery Walk: We finish with a grand tour! Everyone presents their work, takes photos, and celebrates their new skills.
Take Your Art Home: The best bit? Each child takes their custom-painted canvas home to show off to friends and family!

Local culture

Winterthur is the perfect backdrop for a summer camp creative activity. Known as the city of museums, it has a deep-rooted appreciation for art, but we think the best art happens outside the gallery walls! From the industrial vibes of the Sulzerareal to the greenery surrounding the Skillspark, the city's unique mix of old-school engineering and modern culture provides endless inspiration for young taggers.

🎨 Fun Winterthur Fact: Did you know that Winterthur is home to some of Switzerland's most legendary legal graffiti spots? The city has a long history of supporting urban youth culture, making it one of the most 'street-art friendly' places in the Canton of Zurich!

Our camps often take place near these iconic creative hubs, allowing our participants to feel like a real part of Switzerland's thriving urban art scene. We don't just teach art; we connect the next generation to the heartbeat of the city.

Pricing

Our pricing is as flexible as our art. Depending on the duration of the camp and the number of young artists joining the crew, prices typically range from CHF40 to CHF85 per person. This includes all professional materials and the canvas they get to take home!

Planning a large group or a specific school holiday week? We offer tiered pricing to make it as accessible as possible. 🚀
