The experience

Forget the textbook—let's get some paint on those hands! Bringing a graffiti workshop to your Brisbane secondary school isn't just about art; it’s about engagement and expression. Here’s why schools love working with us:

  • Epic team building: Students have to communicate and collaborate to pull off a large-scale mural. 🤝
  • Confidence boost: Nothing beats the feeling of seeing a massive artwork you helped create. ✨
  • Legal & safe: We teach the difference between vandalism and street art, promoting respect for the community.
  • Pro instructors: Our artists are active in the Brisbane scene and know exactly how to engage teenagers. 🎤
  • Zero stress for teachers: We handle everything—from the gear and safety to the final cleanup!
  • Accessible to everyone: You don't need to be a 'good artist' to make something look amazing with a spray can. 🏆

Step by step

  1. Intro and safety: We kick things off with a quick chat about street art culture and a vital safety briefing, handing out masks and gloves.
  2. Mastering the gear: Students learn 'can control'—how to hold the spray can, swap nozzles (caps), and manage pressure for different effects.
  3. Lines and fades: Our pros demonstrate how to create sharp outlines, smooth gradients, and those iconic graffiti 'fades'.
  4. Sketching the vision: Students work together to sketch out their design on the wall or board, planning the layout and colour scheme.
  5. The fill-in: The fun gets real as the students start filling in the large areas of their design with vibrant Aussie-inspired colours.
  6. Dealing with drips: We teach them the 'pro moves'—how to fix mistakes and use drips as intentional artistic elements.
  7. The sharp outline: Students add the final 'power line' or outline to make their letters and characters pop against the background.
  8. Details and highlights: We add those final touches, like highlights, shines, and 'force-fields' around the piece for a professional finish.
  9. Group photo and wrap-up: We finish with a high-energy photo session in front of the mural so students can show off their work to the school community.

Local culture

Street art in Brisbane

Brisbane has a massive street art heartbeat, from the hidden gems in Fortitude Valley to the massive scale murals in South Brisbane. We draw inspiration from the city's local legends and the iconic "Brisbane Style" to show students that art isn't just something you see in a gallery—it's part of the urban landscape. We love bringing that 'BrisVegas' energy to every workshop, helping students connect with the local culture while they spray.

Fun Fact: Did you know that some of Brisbane's most famous legal street art walls are located right near the train lines? It's a nods to the city's rich history of transit art, which has evolved into the world-class murals you see in the CBD today! 🎨

Pricing

Affordable creative experiences

Our workshop prices in Brisbane typically range from A$40 to A$90 per student.

The final price depends on the number of participants, the location, and whether we're painting a permanent mural or temporary boards. We believe in transparency—no hidden fees, and you don't have to pay a cent until the workshop is done!
