Are the graffiti workshops accessible for wheelchair users?

Absolutely! We specialize in adapting our Calgary workshops for individuals with various physical or cognitive disabilities. Our artists are patient and skilled at finding creative solutions, such as using specialized spray triggers or adjusting the canvas height. We believe street art is for everyone, regardless of their physical abilities. If you have specific mobility concerns, just let us know, and we will ensure the site is fully accessible for your group.

What safety measures do you take during the workshop?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality masks, gloves, and protective suits to all participants. We use low-odor spray paint whenever possible and ensure that the workshop area in Calgary is well-ventilated. Our professional artists supervise every step of the process, ensuring that everyone uses the equipment correctly and stays safe while having a blast expressing their inner artist.

Do we need any prior art experience to participate?

Not at all! Our special needs programs are designed for complete beginners. We focus on the process and the joy of creation rather than technical perfection. Our Calgary artists guide you through simple techniques, from making dots and lines to filling in shapes, so everyone walks away feeling like a pro. It is all about the experience and the fun of trying something brand new!

How long does a typical session last?

A typical graffiti workshop for special needs groups in Calgary lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining high energy and engagement without causing fatigue. However, we are totally flexible! If your group needs a slower pace or more frequent breaks, we can easily extend the session to match your specific needs and comfort levels.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything you need! This includes a wide range of colorful spray cans, protective gear (suits, gloves, masks), and the surfaces we will be painting on. You just need to show up in comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on (just in case!). We handle the setup and the cleanup so you can focus entirely on the art.

Where in Calgary do the workshops take place?

We can host the workshop at various outdoor 'legal walls' in Calgary, or we can bring the experience to your specific location if you have a suitable outdoor space or a very well-ventilated indoor area. We often work with local community centers and care facilities to make the logistics as easy as possible for your participants. We’ll coordinate the best spot during the booking process.

How do I book a workshop and when do I pay?

Booking is easy and stress-free! Start by requesting a quote through our website. We will chat about your group's size, specific needs, and preferred dates. The best part? No upfront payment is required. You only pay after the workshop is completed and you are 100% satisfied with the experience. We even have backup artists ready to go to ensure your event never gets cancelled.

Step by step

Initial consultation: Reach out to us to discuss your group’s specific needs, mobility requirements, and sensory preferences so we can tailor the Calgary session perfectly.
Design brainstorming: We start the workshop by looking at colors and simple shapes, letting everyone pick a theme or a 'tag' that represents them.
Safety gear up: Our artists help every participant put on their protective suits, gloves, and masks, making it a fun 'transformation' into a street artist.
Can control intro: We demonstrate how to hold and press the spray can, using adaptive tools for those who might have trouble with standard nozzles.
Practice strokes: Participants get to spray their first lines and circles on a practice surface to get used to the feel of the paint.
Creating the masterpiece: Everyone moves to the main canvas or wall to contribute their part to a large, vibrant collaborative mural.
Fine details: Our professional artists assist in adding outlines or highlights to make the colors really pop and the artwork look amazing.
Photo op & celebration: We take group photos with the finished artwork to celebrate the incredible achievement of the crew.
Cleanup & wrap-up: We handle all the messy bits, leaving you with great memories and a sense of pride in your creative work!

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Calgary has a burgeoning street art scene, famously showcased through the BUMP (Beltline Urban Murals Project), which has transformed the city's alleys into world-class galleries. Our workshops tap into this local energy, encouraging participants to feel like a vital part of Calgary's creative community. We celebrate the "Cowtown" spirit of grit and friendliness in every session we host.

Fun Fact: Calgary is home to one of the largest collaborative murals in Canada! We love showing our students that big dreams starts with a single spray. 🎨

When we aren't painting near the Bow River, we're likely inspired by the colors of a Rocky Mountain sunset. We bring that same local pride to our workshops, ensuring every participant feels connected to the vibrant culture of our city.
